 Save the baby!....

Oh, the fallout. Mrs. Veronica Havens has lost her baby. For those who missed it, Veronica, the wife of Corwin Havens was brought to ringside with her husband and attempted to interfere in her husband's match by hitting Jonny Fly with a chair. However...the blow glanced off Fly's shoulder and the TNT Hall of Famer turned and instinctively swung a right hand in the direction of where the chair came from. This should be interesting.

"A Lack of Caring"

[Scene Opens]

The scene opens in the master bedroom of the Jonny Fly mansion in New York City. It is night-time in New York, July 25th, three days before Fly meets Corwin Havens at TNT's Final Conquest, but tonight Fly is sound asleep. The camera fades in, and swings to the side to see Fly's face buried into his pillow. The camera zooms in farther and farther on the side of Fly's face before turning black...

[Scene Closes]

[Flashback Starts]

From the relative tranquility of the Fly mansion, we switch to a much more bustling and fast moving scene. The main item of our view is a line of people against a wall featuring the old styled UWA logo. All of the men seem to have one thing in common..they're all sweaty. We here someone yell out..

"Jonny Fly, step forward."

We see a man step forward from the line, and begin walking left. This man is much skinnier, and about three inches shorter than the Jonny Fly we know today. We follow him as he walks past the entire length of men that were lined up to the left of him. He enters an office just beyond where the end of line of men had reached. Inside the office Fly is directed to take a seat in front of a desk bearing a nameplate that reads "Mark Drivelane." Another man stands next to Drivelane behind the desk. He hands Drivelane a folder. Drivelane examines the folder quickly before setting it down on his desk and directing his attention to Fly.

Mark Drivelane

I remember you. You tried out for us last year, did you not?

Jonny Fly

I've tried out the last 3 years, sir.

I see. Refresh me, how old are you?

18 years old, sir. I've been coming to this tryout camp ever since I was 16, the minimum age you require.

Drivelane smiles, nods, and picks back up the folder in front of him.

This here is the folder we've compiled for you during your three day tryout here, and I must tell you, our talent evaluators are impressed Mr. Fly. Please, allow me to read some of their remarks.

Fly begins to smile ear to ear...in hope..

-"Fearless. Will do anything you can come up with in the ring."

-"Well-rounded kid, he can do a sleeper hold just as well as a moonsault."

-"Great endurance, top notch conditioned athlete."

Drivelane closes the folder once again, and sets it back on the desk. Fly continues to take the situation in, afraid to say anything.

I could put you in a match right now and be confident that you would be safe, your opponent would be safe, and the crowd would be satisfied.

Fly's smile widens..

However..

The smile fades quickly. Fly's leg begins to tap on the floor nervously.

That is only half the battle. Your as athletic as we've ever come across in these tryouts, but your background is sketchy. You have no home of address, no parents or close guardians, no record of an education, and frankly Jonny..you have no personality for us to find a way to work with you..

Fly finally bursts out.

No personality! What!

I'm sorry. You just seem too unstable. We want to know what were getting with the few spots we can even offer to the people here today. Maybe try a gimmick if you want to come back next year.

With all due respect, sir, I don't do gimmicks.

Well even so, I trust I'll be seeing you again Mr. Fly, yes?

Oh ya, I'll be back.

Drivelane smiles, stands up, and extends a hand over his desk. Fly stands and grasps it.

I'm good enough for your roster. Next year, I won't give you a choice.

With that, Fly turns, and walks out of the office as another name is called. As that person steps forward from the line, the scene becomes blurry, and switches again..

[Flashback Ends]

[Scene Opens]

We are back inside Fly's bedroom. With a sudden rush, Fly sits up in his bed. He looks around before taking a deep sigh. He runs his fingers through his hair, and steps out of the bed. The alarm next to Fly reads 1:13. Fly grabs a shirt off the ground next to bed, puts it on and then exclaims..

It's time for a walk.

Fly walks across the scene to the door leading out of the bedroom. As he leaves the room, the scene fades.

[Scene Closes]

"And ya wanna know somethin’? Sometimes, I wonder if any of this is worth it. I wonder if this whole place is worth it. If this business is worth it. Ain’t no doubt, this is the big time. Ain’t no doubt that the TNT has always been the place to be. But I’ve left more’n a pound of flesh behind for this place, and bled more than three people got in their body. And for what?

Ever since I got here, someone’s been f<bleep>in’ with me. Bucky, Wilson, Harrington. Hell, periodically, big Fly himself decides to screw with me, in between screwin’ with everyone else. This place has cost me my health, my family, and some might say my sanity.

Broken hand, messed up knee. Contusions, concussions. I’ve been through glass, barbed wire, steel mesh, concrete walls, and just in general had my ass kicked every different kinda way there is to get your ass kicked. People used to cheer for me. Now, they see me and dump their garbage on me. So yeah, I’ve been wonderin’ if it was worth it myself.

And ya know what?

[Havens pauses and the camera focuses in tight on his face.]

CH: You’re goddamn right its worth it."

    --Corwin Havens

"I did what I promised I would do. I began to pick apart this company, limb from limb... day after day. I took out half the roster within 4 months."

    --Corwin Havens

"TNT is MY company, and I'll show everyone what it'll take to free it from my grasps this week."

   --Jonny Fly

[Scene Opens]

It is a wet, dark, and dreary night, or morning if you wish, in New York City. Despite being July, New York nights can still be a bit brisk, especially with the rain of the earlier evening still lingering around. The rat-a-tat we here is none less than Jonny Fly taking a rare mid-night walk in the city he's lived in his entire life. Fly has his hands in his windbreaker as he walks through some of puddles that remain on the sidewalk. We follow him, and feeling the presence, Fly turns. He notices the camera, smiles, and turns and continues on his walk beginning to speak as he goes..

Jonny Fly:

I figured I'd be seeing you guys soon. Your here, no doubt, to ask me to comment on the Havens's baby blunder, yes?

Fly half turns back to the camera, as if expecting an answer, but quickly continues walking.

When I heard the news, I was shocked. Not much shocks me anymore, but I was truly taken aback. And I've really been looking for words to describe what I feel about it..but it's hard..

Because I really don't give a fuck.

That bitch attacked me. Like a chair shot's going to do anything to me! She attacked me, and before I even knew it was her, I had given her one hell of a right hook. However, I didn't bring her down to ringside, and I certainly wouldn't have a women do my bidding for me. If I want something done, I'll get it done myself.

Havens needs to get his head out of hands and put the blame where it needs to be: himself.

You know, I've been very clear from day one with Havens. I've been simple, and direct. I've told him I will not allow him to take TNT down, and that he was underestimating me. It was never a case about how mad Corwin was or any of that, except to him. Every time I have stepped in his way he has come back about how much more angrier he was, and that he was going to take it out on me in the ring. Every time I've stepped in his way he's declared that he wants blood.

..and every time I've privately laughed at him.

It's not about Corwin here, and what he's capable of, it's about what measures I will take to stop him, and whether he's willing to go that far. That's what it's about. Maybe this is a wake up call for him, or maybe now he knows why I've been in control of this company for years. Maybe. He's underestimated me from day one, he wasn't prepared for this. He's in a whole new ball game right now, and the outlook is bleak.

But the question still begs..

What's his limit? And if he can answer that question, then I've already won.

Corwin talks about pouring his heart and soul into something, and it truly shows how little he understands what he's got himself into. For me, it's TNT Wrestling. The one thing he wants to destroy. THAT'S why it's personal. That's why the only thing that matters is if you'll go father than me. Imagine what Havens would do to go back and save your child Corwin. Imagine. Then imagine someone a little bit more talented, a little more crazy, and with a lot more pride doing the same thing to keep him from "destroying" TNT.

Fly does his half turn again and mutters..

Bleak may have been an understatement.

Fly turns again, and continues walking.

You want to know why I say there can be no limit? I've wrestled for a shade under five years..

Fly turns all the way around and looks directly into the camera.

In that time, to this business, I've lost my father, a girlfriend, my best-friend and partner, my manager, and lawyer, who also took down The Dynasty, my creation, with him, and was helpless as Nicky Mills turned on me and left me unable to walk for 8 months. I've had to fake death and move to Japan to escape people coming after me. I had a loan shark and his hitmen shadow me at my own god damn shows for eight months. Do you what it's like going out and competing with the knowledge that a sniper bullet could take you out at any second? Hell, someone even tried to say the cause of my spotless win/loss record was that all my matches were fixed, and I was nowhere near the wrestler everyone had been used to seeing. Not to mention having lived on the streets, homeless, since I was 12. And don't get me started on what it even took to get off those streets, and into a wrestling ring. Now Havens wants to talk about a little fetus, lost because of his carelessness, and I'm supposed to care?

Call it a lack of caring but..

It all comes back to Havens.

Corwin..

You could of "preyed" on five hundred other wrestling companies. But you choose TNT. You could of had you way anywhere else, but you came to my domain and declared war. What did you really expect? Did you think I was a fraud, too? Did you really just think you were that good? Please. Don't be mad at me that you can't take it Corwin. And defiantly don't be mad at me you brought your pregnant wife down to ringside. Seriously, what the fuck is wrong with you?

Two more days Corwin. Not only will you still be wallowed in grief from losing your unborn child, but you will be embarrassed on National Television by the greatest wrestler that has ever put on the boots for this company. Your TNT career will be become a running punchline, and you will stand in the back and watch, and wonder..what's it like. With the night that will define the rest of your precious little career, I can only hope you understand what your up against..

But just in case you don't, let me tell you

I won't be praying to God tonight..

I'm above him.

With that Fly flashes that trademark smirk, turns, and walks away into the night.

"Corwin has a limit, I do not. And unfortunately for him, I will take him to that limit..every...time."

   --Jonny Fly
