Here we go again.... Time is ticking down to the second confrontation between Corwin Havens and Jonny Fly. Corwin fired back heavily on Fly this week, and knowing Fly, Fly will respond in his ever clever way before they meet. It shall come as no secret that the other two competitors in the match, Mike Wilson and 10-Minute Major, are of no concern to either man. Fly and Havens used to be fighting for a cause, but now it's personal. "Friendly Chat" [Scene Opens] Destinies Collide will air in Rosemont, Illinois. Just last night Jonny Fly, scheduled in a tag team match again arch nemesis Corwin Havens and 10-Minute Major, arrived for the show. Fly quickly checked into his hotel, unloaded his luggage in his room, and took off to roam the city. The scene opens up in a bar about 3 blocks away from the hotel Fly is staying at. A jingling sound is heard, and the front door to the bar swings inward. Inside the bar comes Fly, dressed casually, and wearing a light jacket. He picks a stool at the end of the bar and takes a seat. The bartender meets him there.. Jonny Fly: I'm not picky. Whatever you like will work for me, tonight. The bartended nods, begins to walk away. As he begins to turn Fly slides off his jacket revealing a polo shirt with an embroidered "JF" on the upper left corner. The bartended does a double take, catches himself, and walks off to make the drink. He returns into the picture a few moments later carrying a drink for Fly. He slides it onto a napkin.. Bartender: There ya go. Fly takes a sip, and nods in approval of the drink. I couldn't help but notice. Your Jonny Fly, right? Fly laughs. I've been thinking of getting one of those latex rubber masks for times like this, but to answer your question, yea, I'm Fly. I heard they were having a show over at the Hall, I'm glad you decided to stop by my place. It's an honor. The drink is on me. Ah man, I can't accept that. I'll pay. If you insist. You know, ever since I heard they were going to be having a show here, I've been following your company a bit. And I gotta tell ya, I've never seen a person take as much punishment as Havens and you took on the last show. I mean, is that stuff for real? If it wasn't, my doctor would lose a lot of business. The bartended laughs at the joke. We beat each other up pretty good, but Corwin is one of those people that you continually have to beat the message into. So I gotta go over there and take it to him again. What's the deal with him? Pssh. Beats me. But apparently he thinks everyone should be afraid of him, that I held him down like, I don't know, two years ago, and that he's the greatest thing since sliced bread, hence, why I should be afraid of him. I don't know, the dude needs to be in one of those homes with people of his kind. You know this week was the first time I've really heard him bash you. I must say he's not very good at the whole "shoot" thing. Fly laughs. It's not that, I mean your right, but to have a shoot that really hits home to the wrestlers and fans, it has to be truthful. I once did an entire camera session teaching Nicky Mills the intricacies of a "shoot" because he was so horrible at it. I mean, when you say things like.. 'I took out half the roster within 4 months." People will begin to tune out what you say. I mean, come on, we have once show a month. That means he had four matches to take out half the company?? Ya, right. There's always a mouthy one that uses words more than actions to elevate themselves. Corwin has done nothing of note that makes anything he says, does, thinks, whatever even remotely worth a shit. He's Rollin' Thunder, with less accomplishments, and a fetish for wanting to kill people or some shit. Good analogy. What do the people in the backstage think about Corwin? Is this just something they say is between ya'll? I really don't know to tell you the truth. Corwin doesn't know much of past TNT history. To him, I'm a politician, I'm this, I'm that, but I'm basically a one man show backstage. Nobody talks to me, nobody listens to me, and I have no input on anything. I ran the company for about 8 months, and after that I've been nothing more than a paid member of the roster. As it should be. I don't want to talk to anyone back there, if I did, I'd probably fuckin' hit them. I have little to no respect for anyone in TNT nowadays. It's not like it used to be back there. I really disapprove of what's happened to the company in the last year. Really? What about Hay? Nic's a different story. He's a good guy. He's always been around TNT in the back. He was a close advisor for Marcel and I when we ran the company. When management crumbled quickly, Hay put a lot of his own money and hard work to bring TNT back. I'm bitter of the downfall, but Hay isn't the problem. He's the solution, and I'm here to help him with what I do in the ring. Fuck everyone else. I remember you talking about that "fixed matches" thing. I'm just a casual fan, so what was that all about? I have a very troubled past. I, unknowingly, made a "deal with the devil" so to speak. I was 17 years old, I lived on the New York streets, every year I went to the UWA tryouts, and every year I got cut. One time after I got cut someone told me they could get me into wrestling if I pushed drugs for them. To survive where I was living, I had to do that shit anyway, so I took the deal. Then I heard nothing of it after that. A year went by, tryouts came, and I finally got in, not remembering my deal. The man went even further than getting me in though, fixing matches for me to elevate my status for when he used me to sell his product. When I finally peaked a year and a half ago or so, he resurfaced to collect. My career was done. It became public. I'm in debt to Nic for taking me back after that, and the nasty injuries Mills left me. But I've proved I'm no fluke. I'm not proud of my past, but it's made me strong. I'm the real deal, there has never been anyone better on that canvas, and I'm happy to convince anyone who doubts me by facing them there. I'd say your right, after seeing last week. I still don't know how you do it man. It's my pride in this company. That's how I do it. TNT is better for putting out matches like that, even if it's with someone like Corwin. Eventually Corwin will realize what he's going up against. He'll realize why I truly always won my matches, and why I'll continue to, and he'll cool down. I've dealt with people like him before, usually people who elevate their status while I was on a leave or something, and then when I come back and the attention is shifted back to me, they through their little tantrums and start running their mouths, or in Corwin's case, changing their personality to get attention. I'll raise TNT's ratings, and I'll put a leash on Corwin all in the same nights work. TNT is MY company, and I'll show everyone what it'll take to free it from my grasps this week. Oh? Something planned? Fly takes the last swig from his drink, and slides the empty glass over to the bartender. He grabs his jacket, and gets up from his stool. Last month was an even draw. We both destroyed each other. This month, I'm gonna light that bitch up. Something planned? No. But I'll be on my "A" game, and I'm gonna win that match..destroy Corwin......and then some. If I were you, I would bet on him not walking out of the arena this time. Fly turns and begins to walk away, but stop, and turns back. Corwin is clueless to what I'm capable of. It's actually quite amusing watching him talk tough. You keep watching us, you hear? We need as many loyal fans as we can get, and I'll always give ya a good show. The bartender nods. Fly turns, and walks out of the bar into the night. The scene begins to close. [Scene Closes] |
