Nothing Changes.... As Jonny Fly grew up in the wrestling world, his talent was a given. Success was a given, however outside of wrestling Fly's life was filled with distractions. It was a weekly thing. You'd tune in to Mayhem just to find out what kind of shit Fly had got himself involved in. Part of the problem was that he never shied away, never made amends, he just took it all on. You just knew it all was going to catch up to him at one point..and it did..and it nearly ruined his career. Now he's back, he's reclaimed his career, and with that has come the problems. The biggest? A "snubbed" Corwin Havens. "..Wait a second.." [Scene Opens] The scene opens in the living room of the famed Jonny Fly Mansion, in New York, New York. The camera has panned into the room and has caught the sight of TNT superstar Jonny Fly sitting on his couch reading a piece of paper. As the camera moves closer, Fly notices, takes off his reading glasses and sets them on the end table next to his location. He begins to speak. Jonny Fly: You know what's always amazed me about wrestlers? They have built themselves up through their entire career. How far they get depends on how well they take care of themselves, how much they can hold an audience, and so on. Imagine spending years training rigorously, perfecting your character, your speech, all of it, just to get a chance at a gold belt. It has filled each of them with an unmistakable amount of pride. A pride in what they do, a pride, and a confidence. Some, become to believe that they are invincible after all the work they've put in. At this point Fly shows the paper he was reading to the camera. It's Corwin Haven's open letter to TNT. Fly flashes it to the camera for a few seconds, and then smugly crumbles it up with one hand and shoots it out of the scene. That's why there's guys like me in this business. As soon as some of these wrestlers get that feeling that they can stand toe-to-toe with anyone, after they've put down a couple of inferior opponents, maybe even grab a title or so...they start taking shots at the top guys in the company. Sooner or later they get the match they want, just because those "top guys" want to shut them up. It is the "statement" match undercard wrestlers will kill to get. It's quite an old strategy that has raised some mid-carders to Main Event status. Me? As one of the top wrestlers in the company, I've always taken a pleasure in beating those people back down to their level. And when that happens? Those wrestlers who shot their mouth off to get the match shift blame to anything and everything else imaginable. It was the refs fault, the opponent cheated, I was hurt, or whatever else they can grasp at. There's no accountability in this business. It's truly amazing. So much pride, so little accountability. It always has been, and always will be, people trying to make themselves look better than they are. Even going to extremes..for example, maybe, becoming "evil." Like a new act is going to make people think "Oh, well he used to fucking suck, but now he's going around lighting shit on fire, he must have gotten better!" Gimme a break. Fly pauses. Then continues. That's all that letter is. Corwin's pride is hurt. He's been beaten down again and again by people in this business, and when he started to bitch about those losses, his respect went right out the window. Corwin Havens has nothing to lose, he has no respect from anyone, he has nothing but losses stuck to his resume..and he's pissed about it! He has fallen into the extremes. He has changed his entire outlook, his appearance, his attitude, everything. He's now just a man bubbling in built up hate. At this point, Fly pulls out a small tape recorder out from his pocket, presses a button on it, and then sets it down on the end table. The recorder begins to play..the voice of Nic Hay is heard.. "..he has declared war on my company. He threatens our very foundation. I don't know what's up his sleeve anymore, but it's not going to be good, and I have nothing to fight it with. Were too small of a company, our legacy, our tradition, our well-being, is under attack.." Fly stops the tape, and continues. That was Nic Hay's briefing to me about Corwin Havens at Survival of the Fittest. That's why I went to the ring. That's why I'm sitting here today and talking about this piss poor excuse for a wrestler. This is TNT Wrestling, not a side show full of fuckin' freaks. Ohh...wait a second though.. Corwin is pissed about the "politics" in TNT the last time he was given permission to grace our ring. Politics! Yes that's right, Jonny Fly playing politics, Reed Harrington ignoring him, fans jeering him and Bucky and Mike Wilson talking shit. You know, I'd of thought a veteran like Havens would of got this on his own accord, but I'll spell it out for him. Fly now talks to Havens through the camera. Corwin, welcome to wrestling! The fans do what they do, the opponents bitch and talk shit, the World Champion is always a smug little prick to everyone else, and the main man in charge has to juggle all of your fucking ego's. That's the name of the game you chose to get into. If that shit bugs you so much, your just in the wrong business, son. Or of course, you could do the unthinkable for wrestlers these days, grow some thick skin, buck your shoulders, be accountable for your own actions, and raise hell inside the ring. You think I was ever well liked? How the fuck do you think I got to the top? I'm the most arrogant, cocky fuck your ever going to come across. Nobody liked me. But I beat the holy shit out of any living thing my boss put in front of me. When your good, you go places, no matter who likes you. Why? Because that's what the fans want! They pay the money! When your not good, and pay attention here Corwin, because this is your category, people don't pay you any mind. Your ignored by the suits, because you bring them no money. It's a simple business concept, and this is a business that you are in on your own accord. Maybe you should go burn down your parents house for giving you shitty genes. Keep writing letters Corwin. Keep telling everyone that I'm the cause of your problems, but only one of us has tried to confront to the other. You say you want me, I've shown I want you. Now we have a match coming up. Perfect. I don't give a fuck about your crap Eurasian Title, every dog needs a bone to play with, so you can keep it. And trust me, I know this is going to be a street fight. I'm sure your perception of me is as someone who won't be able to withstand your violence, but I grew up on those streets. Bring it. "Evil exists to glorify the good. - Sivananda" Your just another in a long line, Havens. With that, Fly flashes his trademark smirk, and then gets up and leaves the scene. [Scene Closes] |
