The Beaten Path

"Broken, Bruised,...Back?"

-Begin Narrator-

A life has fallen.

Does the name Jonny Fly ring a bell, anyone? The TNT Hall of Famer, whose career was found to have been a fraud? Anyone heard of him? The same very man who was viciously attacked to within a thread of death by his partner..his friend..his stablemate..Nicky Mills.

For those who've so conveniently forgotten, or never had the privilege of knowing, there was once a time..nay..an era..when the name Jonny Fly WAS the Webster's definition of dominance. Fly cast a shadow over Sunday Night Mayhem so big that he ended up taking it over. He was the heir apparent to Marcel Hasan, the legendary creator of TNT Wrestling.

You talking about the guy who bled TNT red. Where has he gone? Where could a man in his situation go? The wrestling world has turned on Fly. The Dynasty Hitmen have turned on Fly. Mills turned on Fly and left him for dead, and then met the pit himself. Your talking about a guy who has needed to rehab from brutal injuries, and learn how to wrestle all in the same breath. He's had three months to do it.

Where is he now?

-Begin Scene-

The scene fades in, at a TNT house show in New York . A match is going on between two relative nobody's when the crowd's attention is drawn to the noise of the titontron springing to action. The scene we see on the titontron is that from the parking lot. A white 2005 Mustang Roush has just pulled up to the arena entrance. The driver's side door swings open, and a figure rises out of the car. A figure that will surely send chills down the spine of TNT diehards.

"The Equalizer"

"The Kid Wonder"

"The International Icon"

Jonny Fly

Fly walks around the front of the car, up to the front door, and pushes the door in. The scene switches to inside the arena. Fly never breaks stride to look around at the surroundings, he simply walks down the hallway, obviously with purpose. As we watch him walk, we notice everyone simply turn, stop, and stare at the..ghost..they are seeing. Fly notices nothing, and still presses on. Finally a voice stops him in his tracks.

??:

Hey, I remember you.

Fly stops and turns. Mike Wilson moves in, almost touching chins with Fly. Wilson starts back up.

MW:

Your that Jonny Fly guy. I thought you died or something? Actually, I thought you died, then came back and tried to compete with us REAL wrestlers, you know, us who've worked our way to the top, got your ass kicked, and then died again. Did I get that pretty much right?

JF:

No. You forgot, I can't die. They've tried and tried, yet, here I stand. I got two feet, two arms, and I got a statue in front of TNT Headquarters.

MW:

Which is an embarrassment to everyone that's passed through this company and worked honestly for their spot on Mayhem only to be shut down by you, a fraud, a nothing, an excuse for a wrestler, person, and man. Watch yourself, Fly, your not welcome here, and it will be shown.

With that Wilson turns and walks away. Fly gives his trademark smirk, and then continues on his way. He walks down the hallway again before stopping short of an office labeled "Andrea Williams." Fly doesn't even bother to knock, he just walks into the office..

AW:

Hey! Ever heard of knoc.....oh....you...

JF:

I'm getting that reaction a lot lately.

AW:

What the hell do you want from me? With the exception of possibly Brian Kraemer, your probably the last person I thought I'd see in my office today. Your not very popular around these parts.

JF:

Forgive me if I really don't give a shit about popularity at this stage in the game. This goes deeper than that. This is about redemption. This is about taking back what I think was taken from me..unfairly. This is about proving to everyone that I can compete with these guys without Kent Strong, without The Dynasty, without the Hitmen, and without matches being fixed. I want my career back, and I've worked myself into the ground for 3 straight months to do it.

AW:

You want to wrestle?

JF:

What the fuck else would I be doing here?

AW:

I can't do that. I want to help you, Jonny, but it's just not worth the trouble. Besides, you know what happened last time, you threw yourself out there for 4 weeks, lost every week, and then got attacked, and injured. I can't have that kind of distraction. I'd have to have security on you at all times, and to be straight with you, Jonny, your not worth the problems you produce anymore.

Fly turns away, obviously hurt from the last sentence.

AW:

Honestly Jonny, I can't help you.

Fly turns back to Andrea.

JF:

Then I'll just have to help myself. I'll be seeing you..

Fly turns, and begins to make way out of the room. Andrea pleads with him as he moves for the door..

AW:

Jonny...Jonny!

Fly disappears out the door as the scene cuts away.
