A Summer Run? | |||
|
Fade In The scene fades in on a plane en route to Melbourne, Australia. People are busy reading magazines, watching TV, or listening to music. Stewardesses are busy taking food and drinks out to the people. We walk toward the back of the plane where a large curtain interests the camera. We push forward and move the curtain back to reveal a small square room, just enough for two passengers to have plenty of room. A table is set up in between two of the airplane benches. Jonny Fly sits on one of the benches, and Fly's beloved Agent, Manager, and good friend Kent Strong sits on the other. We listen in to the conversation taking place between Fly, and the man that taught him the Wrestling business. Jonny Fly: Why are we going to Melbourne anyway? Kent Strong: International Promotions. It's a shame though that a lot of the top talent isn't coming. The more exposure TNT can get in other countries, the more popular they become. And that means.. ..money. I tell you, all I'm going to be doing is sitting in my office and making sure nobody decides to pull a "Ramage." Haha. I guess you heard about their fun at the Mansion. How could I not? Head of Security playing paintball. Sounds like a man trying to get himself a free pass to my chopping list. Just be glad that nothing terrible happened with him "preoccupied." Hey, rumor has it Alexi Draconis was there! Rumor has it Alexi Draconis was there.. Fly repeats the words, but shows no reaction to them. Um, yea. He was there..in your house. Wasn't he put on the "non-invited" list? He has no business at a TNT Show. Especially at my house, with no contract. Looks like Ramage wasn't doing his job.. Lighten up, bud. Be lucky you don't have to clean up the house. Be lucky? Tell them to be lucky. If I had to clean that place up those guys would be six feet under. Draconis included. You don't mess up another man's house when your not even invited. Ah, whatever. Your such a jerk. Hey, what happened with that Dante versus Bucky match? That seems to be making a little stir. That's just UWA guys stretching the truth. UWA, always trying to make it look better. Can't even put a show out on the right day, yet, blast ours. That match was written by a writer that is in TNT. Therefore, he can use it. We do apologizing for showing Mirror and Rotten, but don't think it's as big as a deal as there trying to make it out to be. To hurt us publicly. We take offense to that. But you guys did show part of a UWA match! That's.. Wrong? No. The man who wrote that match is the owner of it. It just appeared on a UWA show. That writer is in TNT, and his work is allowed to come with it. Plus Mirror was a TNT star last time he was seen. So I do believe we hold his rights of usage. 5 TNT stars versus 5 UWA stars looks better and better.. UWA has a deeper roster, Jonny. You may beat them two on two or something, but five? TNT has me and Vincent. Were locks for a win against anyone over there. We only need one more person to step up and it'd be in the bag. Your too cocky. And when has that ever hurt me, Kent? Good point. But still, you and Mark can't take down the whole UWA roster. That's what you think. Read the name tag. A name tag isn't going to put you over the top on that company. There's a lot of big time guys over there. Not saying bigger than you, but surely enough to outlast TNT. It's all moot then. 1 on 1 we'd get them. Hell, I've already beat their World Champion. There ya go. That's better. How about last week. Did you watch the show? Watched, yes. But did you really expect anything different? What I didn't expect was Chris Raygen. He had a score to settle, and he did that. I can respect that. He told me after the match that he's sorry for costing us a clean win, but it was something he had to do before leaving. That's all good with me. I can live with that. Why did he leave? That kid had a ton of talent. Talent doesn't equal desire. He had no desire to live this life. Especially with the publicity that he gets. That does no good for his other "career." Strong lets out a laugh. No, I guess it doesn't. So, what's next for Jonny Fly? Eyeing a summer run? A summer run? You know, putting your name back on top this summer. It's been awhile since you've been in active competition. It'd bring some summer excitement in TNT. Haha, no it wouldn't. People would just bitch. In their minds, I shouldn't be allowed to come back and try for my old glory. I should just sit back and smile in the office I'm in and watch their untalented carcasses throw my ratings into a jumble. Nevermind the fact that I've given multiple World Titles away for people to achieve their dreams. Mine are nothing to them. As if what I've given people in TNT was expected. Some nerve, eh? Maybe it's that nobody would want to give someone as good as me a Title shot for fear, and certainty, of losing. But should I be held back because of their fears, or should the real "World Champion" get a shot at getting his belt back? I'll go with the ladder. You'll go with the ladder. I'll go with the ladder. Marcel couldn't say no to having me in such a big match. No after what I've done for him. But it's just not going to happen. At this point, with the pussy that's holding the belt now, I'd rather see Mark get his, then get mine back. So that's it. Your not even going to try. If I tried even a slight bit, I would. That's where the rift is. That's where the two forces collide. I don't need a World Title. People like Vetalo, and Thunder, they need a title to latch their names too. My name is too rampant to touch at this point. There is no blemish on my record that can occur to set me back from where I'm at. I'm untouchable in the history books. So why come back? Why get in the middle of Mark's run? Why beat people that know I can beat them? Dislike. Some people have to be put in their place to be put in their place, ya know what I'm saying? You can know that you'd beat him, but their not going to say that. So then you go through the motions.. Not needed really, Kent. I can rest easy knowing that fear still exists. Knowing that Vetalo would run scared if he had to put up that title against me, or Mark for that matter. Look no further that the High Rollers. Last week they had a basket full of shit to say at us. Look at it now. Not a word about us. There eating the shit they talk, and I for one, called it. That's all the satisfaction I need. You and I both know that satisfaction for you is that World Title. Ah, yes, for everyone, but there's no satisfaction in beating the man holding it. It'd be too easy. In a way, it's like highway robbery, it's just wrong. I could do it Kent, but I don't want to. If it was Segrada, or Edwards, or even Nic..maybe..but that man..I'll let him have his fun. It's gone to his head. Time to help him tone it down. I win it, and then what? Defend it of course! Against who, man? There's no point in going in there and whipping up on undercarders. I'm not coming out of retirement for that shit. If things heat up over the summer, then it might be time for me to come in and defend the ole' legacy. Right now, I'm sitting pretty. Well, Marcel wanted me to talk to you, but, I guess that it's right.. Well, no. Explain. I'll wrestle with these Tag Titles need defended, but really, the fun was getting them and putting a cork in "the next Dynasty." To prove, again, our dominance was the only thing I really wanted out of that match. But Mark and I will throw some ideas around and reshape the Tag Titles a little bit. Other than that, I won't wrestle. Unless of course, I get an offer I can't turn down to run something.. Sounds like a man in negotiations.. Your good. So what is it? A Summer Run. Didn't we just talk about this? Fly turns away from Kent avoiding the sure to come questions. Oh, hell no. Your not leaving me hanging.. Fly turns back to Strong. I think I have to go to the bathroom! Fly gets up from his seat, moves the curtain aside, and begins to make way toward the bathroom at the back of the plane. Strong yells after him.. That's fucked up dude! I'm your agent! You better let me know what the hell's going on.. The scene fades with Fly entering the bathroom putting an abrupt ending to Strong's calls. Fade Out "The Kid Wonder"
