Twilight's Waltz
A symphony before midnight,
Mother Nature sends,
bands of crickets, owls and gentle winds.
Oh, bewitching songs of night.
He awaits the breath of light,
lingering beneath shadows deep,
while Father Time falls asleep.
Oh, bewitching stillness of night.
She sashays about, fluttering her light,
through veils of dark lace,
seeking her lover's embrace.
Oh, bewitching yearnings of night.
Beneath a roof of stars twinkling bright,
winds dance the four corners of earth,
and a waltz is given birth.
Oh, bewitching dances of night.
Light and darkness finally unite,
on an earthen bed, they melt as one,
hiding from daggers of morning sun.
Oh, bewitching fate of night.
One last kiss from a misty moonlight,
night gives a silent cry,
while dawn streaks a velvet sky.
Oh, bewitching end of night.
A burning dawn banishes night,
to another place in time,
a twilight waltz of a different kind.
Oh, bewitching death of night.
