More of Newfoundland...

Well, that was the rehersal party.  The next day was Friday, and we were off to Twillingate to do the typical Newfoundland Touristy type things.  Needless to say, those of us who had never been there were rather excited.  I'll tell you this, it's definitely a town geared towards tourists.  "Follow the iceman to see the icebergs" signs started appearing 15 minutes from Twillingate.  Enough commentary, here's the pictures...

Here we have THE lighthouse in Twillingate.  It's on a really rugged cliff, and the scenery is amazing.  I'm pretty proud of this photo... I enjoy it!

Guess what this is!  Another picture I'm proud of.  What a beautiful day it was.  But the outside of the lighthouse isn't the best part, the view from the inside is breathtaking.

Okay, so this wasn't taken FROM the lighthouse, but it's the same view, minus the glare from the glass.  I wish I could have sat on that cliff and just looked out over the world forever.

Our next outing took us on one of the tour boats in Twillingate to see "Whales and Icebergs!!!"  To anyone who isn't from Newfoundland, this is AMAZING!  From left to right: Crystal, Larissa, Amanda and *cringe* Myself.

Awww...aren't we cute?  This is the gang, minus my mom who is behind the camera.  You know the girls, Doug joined us for this one.

"Iceberg, dead ahead!!!" (Think Titanic...)  After a long wait, and much speculation regarding the credibility of our so-called tour guide (we were questioning whether we really would see an icerberg, as we hadn't seen any whales), we cleared some rock masses and there she was.  Huge and beautiful.  For someone from Ontario, it's quite a spectacle.

Typical tourist photograph... the happy couple to be.  I think they really enjoyed getting away for a day.  I know my mom was definitely glowing all day. I'm so happy for them.

A bit of education:  We learned on the tour that this berg was actually grounded on the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean.  HUGE ICECUBE!!  And the little bits of iceberg floating around it?  They call them "bergy bits".  Sounds pretty cheesy to me, but I guess it works.

Isn't my sister the cutest??  hehe...She'd hate it if she knew I was going to call her cute on this page.  Anyway, this is Larissa holding a "berg bit".  For the record: My sister is my best friend in the world... just thought I'd mention that again.

Same bergy bit, different sister (or sister to be).  Amanda is VERY photogenic as far as I'm concerned.  You'll see that in the wedding photos to come... She's got a great smile.

AND NOW...THE WEDDING!!!
