Just Who is Lisa Harvey?

There are two approaches to answering this question.  Literally, I could tell you about my family, where I was born, pets, things like that.  Personally, I don't think that is really what I am all about.  Lisa Harvey goes much deeper than that.

First of all, a little about the basics.  I'm 21 years old and am currently attending Acadia University in Wolfville, Nova Scotia.  I am originally from Ontario though, a small town called Bobcaygeon that as been made familiar by the Tragically Hip's recent song.  I'm taking Music Education, and I think that eventually I would like to teach in the elementary end of things. I may not even want to teach music, but we shall see.

Secondly, to stick with tradition, my family...I have had to adjust my definition of what a family was in the past couple years.  I used to think that it meant Mom, Dad, Sister, and pets all living in the same house with me.  Families were always happy and perfect.  The infamous white picket fence syndrome.  I now have a much better understanding of my family as a unit and as individuals.  Sure, we don't all live together anymore - heck, I live 24 hours away for eight months of the year, and my mom lives in ALBERTA - but we are still a family.  If anything, we are better for what happened. Both my parents are now remarried to wonderful people, and I'm happy for them. I have better individual relationships with every member:

I understand my mother much more now, and we have developed a wonderful relationship. "Daughters are just little girls that grow up to be friends."  Very, very true.  We can share stories and problems on a friend like basis.  My mom has always been there for me.  Love ya mom.  Oh yea, this is my mom and her husband Doug.  Congrats guys!

As for my dad, I think we have become better friends aswell.  My move to Nova Scotia allowed us to start viewing eachother on more even ground and I think my dad genuinely respects me, as I do him. You wouldn't think you could call your dad and cry on the phone, but I can now. This picture will have to do for now... I don't have many pictures of my dad.  hehe, wasn't I cute?

And now comes my sister.  What can I say about the most awesome girl ever?  Larissa has one of the best personalities I've ever seen.  She's outgoing, funloving - even crazy at times! Along with that though, she is the most loyal friend you will ever have.  We share a special friendship..I don't know if she has realized it like I have recently, but she will.  To speak metaphorically, Larissa is a beautiful, fragile crystal to me and I will do anything in my power to keep it from shattering.  I love you Larissa, don't forget that.

And I can't leave out Cody, the BEST dog ever.  If ever a dog was man's best friend, Cody is that dog.  Talk about loyalty.

Okay, so that's the basics, now on to who I am...
