It was a crisp November day, the california sun setting in the horizon, leavint he sky beutiful shades of pink, orange and red. a few clouds smeared above in the beutiful sunset.
Chelsea made her wa down the sidewalk, taking in the last of the beutiful days. she walked up the driveway to the awaiting two story house. once inside she hung up her coat, and walked into the ktichen to start on dinner. She made herself a salad, chicken, and a glass of milk.
then she walked into the living room, which she kept spotless, as she did the rest of the house. She clicked on the tv, and waited for teh picture to focus. she ate slowly, resting her hand on her stomach. she'd been eating more lately, and made shure she got lots of excersize.
She tried to fight the sleep that was creeping apon her, but atlast, her eyes grew heavy. she clicked off the tv, and carried her dishes to the sink filling the tub with soapy warm water. as she rinced her dishes she glanced out into the night sky. the moon shown brightly, and the stars twinkled and danced in thedark sky. lighting up the back yard witha blueish glow. she dryed and put away her dishes, and let the water go, a worl pool fo the water draind out intill it gargled and had been draind. leaving the soap sudds around the edge of the skink. Chelsea took the wash cloth and wiped away the suds, and washed down the counters. then crept upstairs. after changeing, she looked at herself in the full lenght mirror.
at the tender age of 16, she was four months pregnent. after she told her parents , they told her she was a disgrase to teh family and that tehy didnt want to see her again. Her boyfriend, Michael, had been verry supportive and got a second job to suport chelsea and teh babys, he also let her live with him, Agenst hisparents wishes. Chelsea got a part time job to save up money. She had awoke to the phone late one night, michael had been in an accedent. He died on the wak to the hospital. Michaels parents told chelsea that they were moving, and she could simply not stay.
So scared and with out a place to stay, or a soul in the world to turn to, chelsea went to the one place she felt safe. the cabin her bestfriends owned. the house was abandond for the most part, while the family was living in another town, busy with the boys' school and problems of everyday teenage life. but it was still there home. she had not spoken to them in years, but loved them and knew they loved her. Chelsea knew they wouldnt mind if she stayed there, and when they came home and found out, she woudl explane everything. Chelsea looked at her belly. tears came to her eyes. seh felt so alone. "how am i goign to do this?" she thought. as she flicked off the light and climbed into bed. Sunlight streemd through the window, filling up the room. Birds sung back and forth to eachother.
chelsea yawnd and climbd out of bed. stumbling as she rubbed the sleep from her eyes. she put on her glasses and dressed in her waitress uniform. after michael died, she got a full time job. She walked into the kitchen and made herself a begal and cream cheese for breakfast. Then made herself a sandwich and some sticks of fresh crisp celery. Ran upstaris to brush her teeth and pin up her hair, then back downstairs to clena the kitchen. after wiping down the counter, she glanced up at the clock. she grabbed her lunch and headed out the door. The morning was cool, but the sun was warming things up. shadows slowly disapeerd, and the mornign dew dried up. She didnt have a car, so she walked to work every day, and walked home. she didnt mind, it was good excersize. Her boss, George, was a really nice guy. He was 50, married with three growen children, and two grandchildren. The other waitress she worked with was Lizzy. Lizzy was 18 and trying to save for collage. she was such a sweetie. It was a small quiet cafe. Most customers that came in were regulars. when there were no customers, they turned up the music and all talked.
the bell rung at teh top of the door wehn chelsea walked in. chelsea was hit by the aroma of breakfast cooking. "hey chels" lizzy said brightly. the cafe was empty. lizzy was sitting on teh counter looking over some collage broushures." hey lizzy" chelsea smiled. "gorge in teh back?" chelsea asked. Lizzy nodded. chelsea went in teh back and hung up her coat and grabbed her green apron. she fastend her gold and black name tag. "morning george" chelsea called. "good morning chelsea" gorge said comming around the corner. "chelsea.." george asked. "hmm?" chelsea asked tieing up the back of her apron. "im giving you the day off tomorow, you need rest" george said. chels smiled "thanks" "mmm smells good" chelsea commented on the smell of eggs and baccon frying in the kitchen. "i'll bring some out for you and lizzy" george said laughing. "thanks" chelsea said walking out the door. "hey lizzy whats up?" chelsea asked leaning over her shoulder looking at her papers. "waiting to hear back from UCLA" Lizzy said quietly. "hear back from standford?" chelsea askeed. lizzy nodded. "i got in, but thats not the school i want to go to" lizzy said quietly. "awe lizzy how come?" chelsea asked. "well i do, but i dont hae the money" chelsea looked at her. "why dont you geta loan? stanford, hun thats what youve been working so hard for." chels exclamed. "i know, but when would i ever get to pay back the loan?" "what about your parents?" "did you tell them?" chelsea asked. "lizzy you have alot ofmoney already, if you take out a loan it wouldnt ahave to be a big loan, lizzy youve worked so hard dont give up on your dream yet" chelsea said giving her a hug. "thanks chels" lizzy said smileing. She wiped away a tear. "and how about you and ur little baby, how areyou doing?" lizzy asked putting her hand on chelseas belly. "we're managing" chelsea said with a little smile. "you alrigt?" lizzy asked. Chelsea nodded. "we'll do something saturday ok?" lizzy asked. "okay" c helsea smiled. GEorge came out with two plates of scrambled eggs, sausages, baccon and some toast. smiles spred across teh girls faces. "Smells great" lizzy said looking at everything. Chelsea losed her eyes and smelt in the aroma. everything smelled so good. She opend her eyes, and lizzy handed her the pepper. chelsea handed her a cutlery set. "thanks" lizzy smiled. Chelsea took a bite of her eggs"mmm" she said closing her eyes again. "tahnkyou, now eat up" george said grabbing a broom and walking back to the kitchen.
