He looked down at her, cuddled up close in his arms.
She was wearing his oversized gray sweatshirt.
There was a twinkle in her eyes, somethign that wasn't there the day that they met.
She looked at up at him and smiled.
"what?" Marc asked kissing the top of her head.
He smiled. Her hair smelled like of coconuts, Her favourite shampoo, that she'd been braggin about getting the day before. Now he understood why.
As much as he loved her, there were certian things about her he just didn't undestand.
But hell, he'd never unsderstand the mysteries of the oposite sex.
"nothign" she answerd with a giggle.
"no..what?" he asekd. She sat up on the couch cross legged.
He propped himself up, his blond hair, was highlighted with orange from the fire crackeling behind them.
They were over at his house, his parents out for the evening.
"well i was just wondering, would you let me shave your legs?" she asked.
Marc let out a laugh.
"what you dont like my hairy leggs?"
Chelsea shook her head. "no, ew!" she said wrinkiling her nose.
He burst out luaghing. "if you PROMISE not to tell a soul" he said.
"cause your right, I dont like hairy leggs eather" he said
Chelsea loved that about hteir relationship.
They could be totally honest, and they always seemed to understand eachother.
Marc filled the emptyness in her life.
Before she met him, life was very lonly. She had no one that understood her, no one to hold her when she cried, no one that really cared.
They were like the missing half of eachothers lives.
"what about chest hair?" marc asked.
"would you like it if i had hair on my chest?" chelsea asked.
Marc coulding help but burst out in laughter.
"armpits?"
Chelsea gave him a 'are you crazy' look.
"you're going to turn me into a model or something" he said with a wink.
"the lost member of 98 degreese." chelsea said with a smerk. she wrinkled her nose at the thought of corny pop music.
"I know you were a Moffatt fan, but how BIG of a fan were you?"
"you mean was I a crazed teenybopper?" chelsea asked with a laugh.
She smiled remembering 'the moffatt years'
"I donno, i was at first, like..I had them all over my walls" she said feeling slightly embarrased.
"That's like me and Laetitia casta"
"Who's that?" Chelsea asked.
"she's a super model"
"oh really?" chelsea asked msliing. Marc nodded.
"i used to love her, did you ever have fantasises of yourself with them?" Marc asked.
"all the time, how do you think i became such a good writer?" chelsea asked laughing.
"god given talent. I mean, I was the same with Laetitia, Its like a drug ya know? You can't stop after awhile, your addicted, you know you have to but you cant. but now your all I dream about" He said giving her a kiss.
Chelsea blushed a rose colour.
"Your all I dream about too" Chelsea said. "But your right about being a drug"
"If given the chance, would you go to Calgary to find them?" Marc asked.
Chelsea shook her head. "No, I love you! You'r the one that makes me happier then i ever thought I could be" she stated not careing how corny it might sound.
It was true, before Marc came along, she didn't belive in love. She had never really felt loved before she met him.
"Well, I love you too, but I mean, not to 'go for them', just to like..hang out, say 'whazzzup, im chelsea' He said trying not to crack up.
The smile didnt faze her at all.
"I don't talk like that" Chelsea said bouncing.
"I know you're too shy, but honstly, would you want to?" He asked.
Chelsea shrugged. And brushed her brown hair out of her face.
"would you want to go hang out with Laetitia casta?" Chelsea asked.
"and her kids and husband? Probibly not" Marc said shakeing his head.
"How bout we go to Calgary" Marc said.
"When?" Chelsea asked.
"Right now"
"What?" chelsea asked raising her eyebrow.
"Well tomorow, just pack up and leave" he said.
"Thats CRAZY!!" Chelsea exclamed with a smile. She couldnt help but get excited.
She could tell he was serious.
"You've always watned to get away from here" Marc insisted.
"well yeah, but we have no money"
"Together we have $3000 Bucks" Marc told her.
"Thats not near enough" Chelsea pointed out.
"Chels, If people can come to this country with 5 bucks in their pocket, We can do it with $3000, We can get a loan, and Jobs there" He said.
"Plus..I hear from you, that th ose guys would be cool to hang out with" Marc said.
Chelsea glanced at him ceriously. "Whats in Calgary?" She asked.
"Life with you" Marc answered honstly.
Chelsea smiled. "okay, lets go" She agreed.
"tomorow morning" Marc added.
"not too early" chelsea reminded him. She hated getting up early.
"well i best be getting you home, you've got to pack, and talk to your parents" Marc said.
Chelsea nodded.
"How long have you been planning this?" chelsea asked.
"Like..two minuts, Sper of hte moment" he assured her.
They got up and got ready.
~The next day~
The sun was shineing brightly. IT was a warm spring morning, perfect for driving.
The smells of the new flowers filled the air, along with the sounds of the morning birds.
Chelsea had packed most of her important belongings, that she simply could not live without, such as her coconut shampoo, and her Teddy bear named Ross.
The rest, her parents would ship out once her and Marc got settled.
When Marc's parents got home late the night before, and Marc immediatley told them the news, They immediatly phoned Chelsea's parents, Both sets of parents were equally alarmed at the sudden desision.
The Mom's stayed on the phone for twho and a half hours before they came to a desision to lend the two enough money to buy an aprporiate home.
It was a huge step, and although, there was some nervousness of 'Will this work out?' 'Are we doing the right thing?' Everyone knew that It would be alright in the end.
It was already a year after their graduation, and they were finally ready to go out int o the so called 'real world'.
Chelsea and her mom were waiting on the front steps. Her mom's eyes were glazed over with tears that were threatening to spill over at any moment.
Her Dad was on his way home from opening a joint account so they could put money into it if the kids needed.
He kept phoneing the house, scared that he'd miss saying goodbye.
Chelsea laughed at the thought. She'd never leave without saying goodbye.
Marc's red Ford Explorer pulled into the driveway.
Her mom stood up shakeing, ready to help chelsea wiht her bags.
Marc got out of the truck, and smiled.
He pulled her mom into a quick hug.
"dont worrie, im gonna take good care of her" he assured her mother.
Mrs. Gillis smiled. "I know you will" she said and she brushed away some of her tears.
At that moment, Chelsea's dad pulled into the driveway.
"Hey there" He said trying to sound cheerful.
"Hey Mr. Gillis" Marc smiled.
"I just put your money into a joint account, here's all the info you'lll need" He said handing Marc a foulder.
"thanks you guys" Chelsea said hugging her parents.
She watned to get the goodbyes over with, because she could tell how hard it was on her parents.
It was even harder for her, leaving everythign she knew.
There was a time when she couldnt WAIT to leave, but now that that time was here, it was harder then she ever immagined it would be.
