My Delta Integrale Evo2 Giallo

Since I've got this little Delta monster I've tried to get to places to do it some justice. Yeah. Not so simple anymore with speedbumps/sleeping policemen and Gatso's popping up everywhere here in Holland.

Belgium however still offers room for a nice ride.

And if that limits legal speed, there's allways the circuits of Zantvoort and Assen.

So... how come?

Around Christmas 2003 I ran into this Integrale at Franke and something started cooking... I was looking some time for something that would get me to Torino in 2006 in style, to celebrate Lancia's 100th birthday. I was hopefull Lancia would build the new Fulvia coupé in a large enough quantity for be to get hold of one. No such luck, it would be expensive and in the end Lancia cancelled the project.

But there in the showroom was this little Giallo. And this turned out to be one of these really well-treated and still very good Integrales.

So a testdrive was arranged for the first snow-clear saturday of the year 2004. The drive was, how to put it... sensational! So the deal was concluded fast enough. It's a one out of the 220 from the Giallo series, imported from Germany (hence the sedici badges). With a lowered suspension, I feared for its everyday driveability, but the testdrive took that fear away. There's even a electric sunroof.

Some things had to be done. The exhaust was leaking a bit, so it was repaired. The left/rear shock absorber was sweating a bit, so both on the rear were replaced by Koni Sports. The Recaro seats have been lowered to allow a bit more headroom. Combined with a few nave plates to get the steer closer, it should be a near-ideal driving position. The right front disk was a bit unevenly worn, so new front disks and brakingpads were fitted. The foglights have new protective covers. To conserve the bottom for times coming it'll get a fresh layer of Tektiel. To top things of a complete service with APK check will be done.
