The "Hook" -- The part of the song everyone knows... (or do they?)

My Thought for the week

Just leaving Black History Month. I would like to say something to My people. I watching a forum on C-Span 2 yesterday, and I was completely enlightened. Not only do we have black people out there who are willing to do something about our current status as a people. But we seem to fall off of our energy once we are then seperated and no longer on stage together. Why is this? Why is it that we don't have some kind of center keeping everything together and in process creating progress. All these people come together and as far as I know never really see each other again til the next forum or panel discussion. While everyone has time to write books, and give speeches, why is it that much of our community hardly knows about it? When we have such events on C-Span why is it that we don't know about it? It bothers me that we are such a disconnected community. Even here on my campus there are various people of color marching to the beat of their own tune only because we have no unity to the point where we could do things in unison. it bothers me that we talk so much and don't have the basis, a simple idea of unity, on which we would perform.
