THE STORM
RULES
                                              U7 Rules Spring 2004

A. The maximum number of players on the field at one time will be four (4).
This includes the Goalie.
B. The team will be spit into two equal groups: both groups will play
simultaneously on adjacent fields against another team that will also split into
two (2) groups. The coach should have an assistant help during these games.
C. After half time the visiting team must switch their two teams so that each
team goes a chance to play against one another
Substitutions � Sub can be done on the fly, however do not sub every min. or so
give the players a chance to play. Attempt to make substitutions
as discrete as possible, please.
Playing Time � all the players should play a minimum of 50% of the total game.
D. Tennis shoes or soccer shoes with rubber cleats, not toe cleats allowed
E. Shin guards are Mandatory. They must be covered completely by socks
F. Shoelace should be double tied
G. No player will be allowed to play with a hard cast
H. There may be one referee per field, in the case of no referee a parent should
Step in and perform the duties of a ref
I. All rule infractions should be briefly explained to the offending player. In
addition, give second chances on throw-ins
J. If hot weather is an issue, use good judgment. Longer breaks, more frequent
subs and so on.
K. The game will be divided into four (4) ten (10) minute quarters
L. There will be a two (2) minute break after quarter one (1) and after quarter
three (3), and a five (5) minute breaks between halves.
*Remember that the visiting team should switch fields at half.
*Home teams will take the outside sidelines and will not switch fields.
*The visiting team will take the inside sidelines and switch fields at halftime.
M. Opponents must start outside of the center circle, while the kick-off is in
progress. * A goal may not be scored directly from a kick-off.
N. In case of an injury re-starts with a drop ball.
O. The whole ball must cross the whole line in order for it to be out of bounds.
If any part of the ball is touching the line it is still in play.
P. The whole ball must cross the whole line, similar to Law IX. * No scores
will be kept; everyone wins especially if they play hard.
Q. There will be no off sides
R. All fouls shall be an indirect free kick with the opponents at least five (5)
yards away.
S. Remember that refs should be explaining all infractions and fouls to the
players.
T. All free kicks shall be indirect, meaning that the ball must touch another
player before entering the goal.
U. Opponents must be at least five(5) yards away on all free kicks
XIV. Penalty Kicks
V. There will be no penalty kicks
W. Any player will be given two (2) chances to do a correct throw in on the
sides of the field. After second throw, play on even if illegal.
X. A goal kick will be taken from inside the goal box. All players must be
outside the goal area.
Y. Corner kicks will be taken inside the corner arc area on the appropriate
side.
Z. Opposing coaches and players should always shake hands after a game.
AA. Do not record league standings or scores of games
BB. No slide tacking at any time.
CC. No parent should go on the field unless for an injury. Let the kids play!
DD. Senior refs are there to help. Let them play the game!
EE. Coaches/parents should cheer positively for their child and team.
NO YELLING AT REFS, PLAYERS AND OPPOSING COACHES OR
PARENTS.
FF. All focus should be on fun and development, soccer is a lifetime sport.
Teach the kids to respect and love it.
GG. Encourage dribbling, and shooting stay away from yelling kick it, this sends
the wrong message to the players.
HH. Remember anybody can play soccer. Be positive and encouraging and they
will continue to play.
