-Games will consist of four quarters of 8 minutes in length; the clock will run except during time-outs, injuries, and mandatory substitutions. -Each team gets two 30 second time-outs per half. -There will be one minute between quarters and 3 minutes between halves. -The referee will stop the clock at the 4-minute mark of each quarter for the mandatory substitutions of players. Each player must sit the in each half. -No player may play 3 consecutive quarters if there are substitutes that have not played 2 quarters. -Each player should start the first quarter of AT LEAST HALF of the team�s games. -All fouls will be called. They will not count as personal fouls and no player will be disqualified. -All teams must play a MAN-TO-MAN defense. No zone defenses allowed which includes double-teaming or traps. Double-teaming is allowed only in the lane. Each player must be within 5 feet of the player he/she is guarding. -All technical fouls are 2 shot fouls. The shooting team regains possession at mid-court after the foul shots. Two technical fouls against a player or coach will be an automatic ejection from the game and a one game suspension from the next scheduled game. All spectator technical fouls will count against the coaches� technical fouls. -There will be a jump ball at the start of the game. In all ensuing jump ball situations, possession will alternate. -Full court presses or defenses are NOT allowed. All players must retreat beyond the half-court line once the defensive team has established the rebound. -Passes are allowed to be stolen once the basketball passes the half-court line. No defensive player is allowed to steal the dribble from any player or to reach in and tie up the ball for a jump ball. Special Rules -Teams must play a MAN-TO-MAN defense. -Games will be played on 8-foot baskets. -Junior size balls will be used. -No three-second-lane violations will be called. -The referee shall call double dribbling and traveling. More often as the season progresses. -All players must play � of EACH game. -Ten-second violation will be enforced from the time when the rebound is established by the defensive team. -When the defensive team controls the rebound, the shooting team must immediately retreat beyond the half-court line, NO FULL COURT DEFENSES ARE ALLOWED. -Change of possession may occur only as follows: loose ball, score, rebound, offensive foul, and ball out of bounds. There will be no reaching in, stealing the dribble, or reaching in to tie up for the jump ball. -There will be no three-pointers. -The free throw line will be set at 10-feet. -NO SCORE WIL BE KEPT. -Double-teaming is allowed inside the lane only on the player who has the basketball. -No 4 corner or spread offenses that create 1 on 1 situations. |
