THE STAGE ON BROADWAY
Sunday September 15, 2002
Every Sunday when he is in Nashville, Clay plays for seven hours at The Stage on Broadway...from 11AM to 2PM he is there as a "solo" act then, his band comes in and performs until 6PM. These pictures introduce you to some of his band and The Stage on Broadway. Don't forget this IS Nashville and you never know who is going to stop by!

When Clay first met Jody he was playing with Marty Stuart. Jody has spent the past four years performing with Gary Allen. Jody's dad, Joe Maphis and his mom wrote "Dim Lights, Thick Smoke and Loud, Loud Music". Needless to say, Jody grew up in "the music industry". He is a treasured addition to Clay's band. It is always wonderful when he can play with friends!
Sid "Sunshine" MacArthur is the core of Clay's band. Hailing from Maine, Sid brings the talent of the ultimate country bass guitar player coupled with not only strong back-up vocals but also the ability to sing lead. Clay regularly features Sid at band gigs as a lead singer for some of his favorite songs ranging from Merle to John Anderson Sid was honored last December as "Musician of the Year" on Broadway by club Owner Rubel Sanderson.
Stop back next Sunday for pictures and captions featuring STEVE CUMMINGS, drummer and singer!

Remember when I said that in Nashville you never know WHO is going to stop by...today an old friend and exceptional guitar player Billy Johnson came in while the band was on break. It was funny because last night I saw him play on The Grand Ole Opry with Porter Wagner on TV.
