TWO EXCITING UPCOMING ALBUMS...ACTUALLY THREE!!!
Clay and Tommy working hard...right!
HEY WAYLON
Living in Nashville has given me the opportunity to make some wonderful friends. I am extremely pleased and proud to be a part of a very special project that is a tribute to Waylon Jennings.
Waylon's brother, Tommy, came to me with eight songs he had recorded WITH Waylon! He wanted to finish the project with four more songs - one of which he wrote after Waylon's memorial at The Ryman.

Waylon is actually playing guitar on the eight songs and sings a verse on one too. This project will be available at www.cdbaby.com/tommyjennings in about three weeks. So many tribute albums these days are simply a variety of well known contemporary "country artists" singing songs that are associated with whichever artist the tribute is to, that it is gratifying to be involved in a REAL tribute. This album is from Tommy's heart. Tommy wants to offer the public a very personal glimpse into his brother's life and career. He has asked his mom and two surviving brothers to offer their insights as well.

This album is a real gem and a wonderful slice of history! I'm amazed to be a part of it! Tommy plans to tour to support this project and has asked me to open this show solo as well as playing electric guitar in the band. If you like the "outlaw" sound, do yourself a favor and pick up this CD.
BILLY RAY REYNOLDS
Billy Ray Renolds has been my friend for about 25 years. After he left Waylon Jennings' band, he played with me in Houston. I lost track of him for a while. He was busy writing songs or screenplays and acting in movies or on TV. We met again in Nashville and he has been sharing the stage with me whenever he is in town! We love playing together (the audience seems to like it too). Here we are on stage at Legends.
This past week we went into the studio at the legendary Cowboy Jack Clement's studio and recorded a gospel album. Billy had just finished writing the songs and I had never heard any of them so I was a little worried, but it is a WONDERFUL project. (I was looking forward to seeing Jack but he was in Ohio being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame!) Billy has most of the tracks he wants but has to come back in a couple of weeks to record his vocals. I'll keep you updated on his progress and make sure to let you know where and when you can get one.

CLAY'S GOING TO RECORD A NEW SOLO CD!
This past year has brought many changes to my life...I moved into a new house which I love...I went to Europe (Switzerland) for the first time and have been very busy performing on Broadway (over 300 shows last year!) either solo or with my band.

The house I bought has a "bonus room" over the garage where I plan to record a new solo CD. Having a studio set up in my house will allow me to record whenever I want (without watching the studio clock) and I am anxious to do it. I have already done the pre-production on the CD...choosing the songs. Now all I have to do is to find enough time to record it! I'll let you know.
