LEGENDS CORNER
Tuesday, September 17, 2002
Nashville is a city with definite rhythms in live music venues...for instance, if a Monday afternoon is GREAT then Tuesday is usually quiet...today was a definite exception...the President of the United States was in Nashvile and traffic was blocked from Broadway long enough to make it difficult for anyone to get downtown. However, there were still people in the club from England, South Korea and a lot of locals requesting Clay's original songs.
Major thundestorms and a visit from the President of the United States, George W. Bush - all contributed to people having trouble getting to Legends Corner to hear Clay's set...even though...there were people there from Michigan, South Korea, England and a handful of "locals" who come in each time Clay plays to request one of his original songs...
Melissa is the daytime bar manager and our "other" favorite bartender at Legends Corner. She loves Clay's slide guitar playing - her favorite song (s) of Clay's are "Heartbeat" and "Blaze's Blue".
HI MICK...WE MISS YOU!
Joey Gunn came in today to talk to Clay. Joey used to be a promoter and booking agent in Texas and booked Clay there! Now, Clay regularly runs into Joey downtown.
Clay was thrilled this afternoon to see K. W. Turnbow come in. K. W. has played  drums for Chris LaDoux for many years but has also played in Clay's band for the past several years. He had been on a trip to Jackson Hole, Wyoming with other mutual friends and Clay was delighted to see him.
