Guild Guidelines
The Dallas Area Gaming Guild is not really an organization, but rather only a small group of avid gamers that enjoy spending some of their free time gaming.  Although we are not limited to the kinds of games we play, most of us tend to enjoy miniature wargaming of one form or another.  The Guild was instituted simply as a forum for us to compete in different games over limited periods of time.  We do this for no other reason than to have fun.

We play in organized tournaments (where all games are completed in a short time period, or in a single day), or in leagues (games are played over a larger span of time).  The games we play can vary from league to league and tournament to tournament and are not limited in any manner.  If there are enough interested players, any game can be played.   Duration and timing of the different leagues and tournaments are limited only by player interest and availability.

This is not a marketing effort, so we do not require game specific models for those who do not wish to go out and purchase models for a particular league.  I.e. playing Void with 40K models is acceptable if players can keep everything straight and agree on proxy representations prior to the game.  Painted pieces are encouraged (for aesthetics) but not required.

In general, leagues will last 2 to 4 months of more depending on the number of games required and how long it takes for everyone to complete their games.  Schedules are normally flexible but there is also usally a "drop dead" date, agreed on from the beginning, on which the league ends.

Normally, games can be played in any location that the players involved can agree on.  If a tournament or league wishes to be sponsored by a store or other entity outside of the Guild, then this as well as other guidelines set forth here may be altered.

Prizes are optional and the issue should be decided on prior to a league starting.  Players may vote and decide to charge a nominal fee in order to purchase prizes for the winners of the league.  How this is to be decided and broken down must be clearly stated prior to the start of the league.  Under no circumstances will cash prizes be allowed.

There are no membership fees to the Gaming Guild itself.  The only requirement is that all members must have Web access of some form.

Any guild member may moderate a tournament or league.  The person Moderating is required to maintain the appropriate web pages for the league or tournament and to be available for making rulings when necessary.
