| League Rules Game Chronopia, using rules in original main rules, source books and as modified by the Official FAQ and League House Rules. Forces Each player plays a single force list (race/house/tribe etc.) for the duration of the league. For normal games forces shall not exceed 1500 points. Other games will be specified separately. League Length Each player players 6 games and take part in up to 2 multi-player games. 2 of the 6 games must be played using the provided scenario (Last Stand), one game as the defender and one game as the attacker (scenario to be provided separately). Summary of games to be played: 4 Normal Games 1 game as Attacker in Last Stand Scenario 1 game as Defender in Last Stand Scenario 0-2 Multi-player games Although Multi-Player games are not required, allowances for not playing in them will not be made. This means that by playing in them you will have the chance to earn more points than if you dont play in them, but missing them will not necessarily make it impossible for you to win or pace in the league. Every attempt possible will be made to allow all players to attend. Allowances will not be made if all games are not completed by the end of the allotted time for the league. Of the six two-player games, each player must have played at least 4 different opponents, and no opponent can be played more than twice. Once a game has been played, the result must be report to the moderator and the results recorded. If it should happen that a player needs addition games, but all opponents no longer need games to finish the required games, then they may play additional games, but the do not receive additional points for the game (they should still play their best in order to limit the points accumulated by their opponent). The date that the league is over, no addition games may be played. Playing Games Games will be played at players convenience. Players will schedule their own games with 2 multi-player games being scheduled for a dates to be determined and to be hosted by Clay Richmond and by Larry Naeyaert. Normal games will go 6 turns, even if both players agree, games may not be extended longer that 6 turns as that would throw off the score by running up points compared to other players in the league. Each player may have an army that does not exceed 1500 points. Armies do not need to have the same troop compositions from game to game, but they do need to be from the same force list for the duration of the league. Games may be played anywhere agreed upon by both players. Standard Board size is 4 x 6 but can be changed if both players agree prior to the game. Standings Up to 8 points can be scored for each of the 4 normal games, and up to 9 points can be scored in each of the two scenario games. For normal games, each player scores points for kills, and the winner receives 2 points for winning the game (to be the winning player, you must have at least 50 points of troops standing at the end of the game more than your opponent). Points for Scenario games are detailed in the scenario. Points for kills are earned according to the following chart: Points Killed Game Points 0 200 0 201 400 1 401 600 2 601 800 3 801 1000 4 1001 1250 5 1251 1500 6 Points Killed are calculated simply by counting the troops that are still on the table and still standing (do not count panicked troops or summoned troops) at the end of the game and subtracting the total from 1500. Game points for multi-player games will be game dependent and the criteria and rules for the game will be provided prior to the game. As a rule of thumb, maximum points that can be attained at a multi-player game should be similar to a normal game and be in the range of 7-10 points. Standings will be based totally on total points earned. Prizes Each player throws in $25 to the pot to enter the league. No more than 5% of the pot will be used to engrave a plaque for the 1st place player to keep and show off. The rest will be used to buy figures or other gaming paraphernalia. Players that place in the league will then get to choose their prizes from those available going from 1st place to 3rd place. All players that complete the required games will get at least $15 worth of prizes. Prizes will be ordered in advance over the Internet in an attempt to maximize the savings available there. Roughly the prizes will be split up with the following breakdown of value. First place winner also will be awarded stewardship of the coveted Gamers Guild Chalice until such time as there is another league winner. Any left over change will be left in the pot for the next league. All players that complete Leauge recieve $15 worth of prizes what is left is split up as follows: 1st Place 45% of pot (plus engraved plaque) 2nd Place 30% of pot 3rd Place 20% of pot Late Comer Rule Players should arrive to the location where a game is to be played at least 15 mins prior to game start time. If you commit to a game start time, and walk in the door late, then there is a penalty. Penalties are as follows: 1) 0+ - 15 Minutes late: Choose 200 points from your army and count them as casualties, play game as normal with remaining force. 2) 15+ - 30 Minutes late: Choose 200 points from your army and count them as casualties, on turn one, late player may do nothing (i.e. move, shoot, go on wait etc.) essentially giving the other player a free turn. 3) 30+ - 45 Minutes late: Choose 400 points from your army and count them as casualties, on turn one, late player may do nothing (i.e. move, shoot, go on wait etc.) essentially giving the other player a free turn. 4) 45+ - 60 Minutes late: Choose 400 points from your army and count them as casualties, on turns one and two, late player may do nothing (i.e. move, shoot, go on wait etc.) essentially giving the other player two free turns. 5) More than 60 Minutes late: Forfeit game giving up Max points . Penalties can only be waved if there are extreme extenuating circumstances (as determined be a guild vote) or if there is at least a 24 hour warning to the opponent that the game start time must be changed. A courtesy phone call PRIOR to game start time warning of minor extenuating circumstances than might result in tardiness will earn a grace period of 30 minutes to game start time (i.e. add 30 minutes to all late times listed above). If both players are late, then both will suffer the penalties listed above as appropriate. |
