Hot Fun, Summer At Six Flags...
The Boomerang

The Boomerang Loops

The Boomerang. What does a boomerang do when you throw it? Well, supposedly it comes right back to you. When you throw a boomerang you first wind up you arm behind you and then you thrust your arm forth and release to launch the projectile and away it goes. At some point, the hurling object reverses course and begins it's return trip. Well, that is what this thrilling roller coaster does. First it winds up. You leave the station... backwards, and are pulled up a hill at a forty-five degree incline. It depends where on the train you are sitting that determines how high you will be at the time it will shoot forward. I was sitting closer to the back and I was a good up feet. What a psycological trip this is. You begin to wonder how you are supposed to fit into that tiny little house (the station) at the bottom of the hill even though you just left it. Suddenly, the train is released and you feel the sudden propulsion, it is a thrill! And then you shoot right though the station at sixty miles per hour and into your first half-loop

The wind-up! The Wind-Up Here we are being pulled up a forty-five degree incline, backwards. This could also be considered to depict us racing down the hill, which we will do shortly, barreling through the station and into the first half-loop. Be sure to click on the image for a larger image.

Whooo-Wheeee! Into the first half-loop. Ok, we have just shot through the station and into the first half loop, notice the white roof that is now upside down, it is the same roof in the "winding up" picture above. Click on the image for some life-sized action!
In da loop! In da loop!Well alright we have completes both half-loops and now we are just completing the full loop and then we will race up another incline exactly like the one we started with. Just as the train loses it's momentum on the incline, it will latch onto another lift which will pull it up all the way this incline, release it and we will repeat the course in reverse.
