The persons in this second photograph are Mr. John Charles DeWitt
on the right and his wife, Mrs. Mary Olive Faith DeWitt nee Richter standing
on the left. The lady seated in the center is believe to be the mother
of John Charles DeWitt, Clementina DeWitt nee Alexander. The child the
old lady is holding on her lap may be Joseph Louis DeWitt but we remain
unsure as John Charles DeWitt actually had a child before Joseph, named
Albert DeWitt. Albert deceased when he was still very young but we are
not sure of his age when he deceased or if he was stillborn.

The most common observation by many others who have seen this photograph is that of the dress appearance of Clementina Alexander. Therefore, we wish to note here that it was actually quite common and fashionable for ladies at that era to dress in that manner, with their 'sarong' and 'baju kebaya'.For more answers to questions regarding the above and below photographs, and on other relevant issues, please see Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs). |

The person seated on the right is John Charles DeWitt. Together is
his wife, their two children and an unknown person seated on the far left.
The child seated next to John Charles DeWitt is most likely to be Joseph
Louis DeWitt (but we are unable to confirm ~ see above). Therefore, the
baby in the arms of Mary Olive Faith DeWitt nee Richter should be Ruby
DeWitt.

The lady seated at the far left of the photograph is unknown but we believe that she may be one of the sisters to John Charles DeWitt. If she was the youngest sister, then, she would be Alice DeWitt. |
