Bukit Cina

Bukit Cina is the largest cemetary outside China with tombs dating back to the Ming Dynasty.

In 1459, the Ming Emperor of China sent his daughter Princess Hang Li Poh to marry Sultan Mansor Shah, the reigning ruler of Malacca. She had an entourage of 500 ladies-in-waiting. The Sultan gave her Bukit Cina, a hill near the town, for their residence.

Malacca River

These photos show the Malacca River meandering through the town. The first photo was taken in 1975.

Bukit Serindit

This is an aerial view of the Bukit Serindit Christian Cemetery in Malacca.
