| MOULIN In 1964 Claude bought the home of his dreams, Le Moulin (the mill), which he called his farm of happiness. The foundations of Le Moulin date from 1345 and 1410, the buildings date from 1880.Inside the house there are open beams and walls of bare rock, which Claude loved. There was a gymnasium, a cinema, a sauna, a bar and a fantastic cellar for wine, Claude was quite an expert on wine, and had Maison Rothschild and Chateau Latour amongst others, some of them would be quite expensive today. Claude wanted luxury, but he also wanted Le Moulin to be tastefully decorated, and he liked it rustic looking, a bit like some British country houses. He also liked the lovely big fireplaces in the house. It has been said that Joan of Arc once stayed at the mill. |
