Claude liked fragrance, be it the smell of flowers, or perfume.
In 1976, he launched the perfume 'Eau Noire'

The name was chosen as it reminded Claude of the river Nile in Egypt where he was born.

He had helped to put together the fragrance himself, by trying out different combinations, until the final fragrance was chosen.

Claude was one of the first artists to create his own perfume.
