Some Snaps of Moscow
This was the view from my window at the Mir Hotel in Moscow. On the right is the famous "White House", home to many government offices and the seat of the rebellion against the Yeltsin government.

It was at a point between the camera and that Stalin-era building on the left that Yeltsin stood on the tank and rallied the people to put down the rebellion.

The US embassy is nearby.
In the New York Subway, you get some marginally talented solo musicians.

In the Moscow Metro you get a string sextet. And these guys were good. I have low res video of these folks playing a fugue. Email me for a copy.
Moscow is like Las Vegas. Gambling everywhere. The sign under the dollar sign says "Super Slots". Once you learn how to pronounce the Cyrillic alphabet, you discover that a lot of the words are like English. PECTOPAH, for example is pronounced "restoran" or restaurant.
