Fresh-cut grass lingering on the breeze
Fills some with joy, causes others to sneeze.
The hot, yellow ball shines down from above
A symbol of God, giving His children warmth and love.
Birds chirping in the trees add surrealness to the scene
Like a work by Van Gogh, so meticulous and pristine.
Just once to meld with Nature’s power
And laugh seeing how people would cower.
Afraid of nature and what is beyond our control,
For our race, it has taken its toll.
Floods, earthquakes, tornados as well
Leads some poor wretch to the gates of Hell.
To never more experience the physicalness we all share
Is nature’s revenge on those who don’t help to care.
