then a talk on the phone almost brings you tears.
Filling in the details of your life up until now
the time in between seems lesser somehow.
The joy of being connected again
lessens the emptiness you felt since then.
Recalling all the fun times you had
and how being together made you glad.

dealt you a cruel, terrible blow.
But now you think the future is better
