Stranded, like the Swiss Family Robinson
Never given the chance to have fun.
Remoteness and anger bottled up in your mind
Can make you bitter, even unintentionally unkind.
Just a wish for someone to share
Your dreams, ideas, and beliefs in which you care.
The struggles and challenges that you face
Often lead you to your lonely place.
Shutting out the world, you do so with ease
Keeping away those who would condemn or tease.
But someday for your sanity I know you must
Find someone to open to and begin to trust.
I have realized this in my own life
And for many years also burdened this strife.
The time it can take might seem never-ending
But the benefits will be worth the mending.
So these words are intended to guide
But in the end the choice is yours to decide.
Whether to continue life as you do
Or take the chance to begin anew.
