Fate, like a knife in the back
can sometimes deny you what you lack.
To make you life whole and complete
truly is a pill that's bittersweet.
Wondering how my life would be
if different choices were made by me.
To experience a different road ahead
might have helped to ease my dread.
Now part of my future is set in stone
because of my fear of feeling alone.
Looking back into my past
I should have seen that loneliness wouldn't last.
