As a child he was first infected
Then his later years were unexpected.
Always knowing there was something wrong
His body was weak while his mind was strong.
Logic and calculation he did befriend
But emotions overwhelmed him in the end.
Not knowing what else to do
He found a group to help him through.
Of his condition they were painfully aware
Could lead to anger, morbid thoughts, and despair.
With one person he found he could relate
Uncovering his bitterness and unresolved hate.
Going to see a doctor, he was persuaded
Could allow him to live without feeling jaded.
So after mulling it over he agreed
The doc might just be what he would need.
After making an appointment and talking with her
He was given the means to effect a cure.
Now maybe he can be less in a pit,
Participate in life and be happy with it.
