One Mom's Sacrifice

For a better life she cannot pray
Because her honor requires she stay.
Happiness, a stranger many years
Shaping her mood and giving her tears.
Because of them she will not leave
Her duty outweighs her need to grieve.
Until they're grown she plays her part
It focuses her will and toughens her heart.
Her love for them is strong and true
Yet still she can't help feeling blue.
A few more years of pain-filled sorrow
Will ensure a brighter tomorrow.
A time when she can live for her
To find peace and a love that's pure.
So into the night she dares her dreams
That all will be not as it seems.
A land of ever-growing love
Between herself and an angel from above.
