Soulmate

There's a lady at home alone
For years it seems I think I've known.
When learning we are about the same
In morals and dreams it seems a shame.
We both lead a separate life,
She with her husband and me with my wife.
Rhetorically pondering a twist of fate
That would a joint life together create.
But such a world is foreign to me
To contemplate that which could never be.
So instead I live the here and now
Not to question the why or how.
