Just Say No!

Drugs are among the leading top killer of our
children today. We must fight this battle with them and not close
our eyes as if nothing is happening, As it was stated by the
actor: Carroll O'Connor,
"Do what ever it takes to come between
your loved ones and their addictions."

**Just A Kid**
It started back when I was just a kid,
I must have really flipped my lid.
I was fourteen and I was a drunk,
Drinking so bad that it led to junk.
I soon caught on to smoking grass,
I got by coming high to class.
This happened more than once a week,
Then i found myself out on the street.

I started spending all my cash,
then proceded on to smoking hash.
It didn't smell as much as pot,
Believe me now, I've smoked a lot.
Now I've started popping pills,
Just for pleasure and cheap thrills.
Not wanting it was a passing thought,
But right away for more I sought.

I got some tales of T.H.C.,
I was so burnt out I couldn't see.
Suddenly I was sweet sixteen,
The most messed up kid I've ever seen.
I got some acid, speed and such,
But that was it, I took to much.
An "over dose" case with little
hope,
I killed myself with too much dope.
I'm in a box, please, don't close the lid,
Oh please,Dear God, I'm just a kid.

In The Arms of the Angels

Spend all your time waiting
for that second chance,
For a break that would
make it ok,
There's always a reason
you feel not good enough,
And it's hard at the end of the day
I need some distraction, oh,
beautiful release,
Memories seep from my veins,
It might be empty and weightless
and maybe I'll find some
peace tonight.

In the arms of the angels,
Fly away from here,
From this dark, cool hotel room,
And the endlessness that you fear.
You are pulled from the wreckage
of your silent reverie,
You're in the arms of the angels,
May you find some comfort here.

So tired of the straight line
and everwhere you turn,
There's vultures and thieves
at your back,
Storm keeps on twistin'
keep on buildin' up lies,
That you make up for all
that you lack.
It makes no difference,
Escapin' one last time, It's
easier to believe,
In this sweet madness, Oh,
glorious sadness,
It brings me to my knees.

In the arms of the angels,
Fly away from here,
From this dark, cool hotel room,
and the endlessness that you feel.
You are pulled from the wreckage,
of your silent reverie,
You're in the arms of the angels,
May you find some comfort here.

You're in the arms of the angels,
may you find some comfort here.

Sung by : Sarah McLachlin
A Psalm Of Life

Tell me not, in mornful numbers,
Life is but an empty dream!
For the soul is dead that slumbers
And things are not what they seem.

Life is rea l--Life is earnest!
And the grave is not it's goal:
Dust thou art, to dust returneth,
Was not spoken of the soul.

Not enjoyment, and not sorrow.
Is our destined end or way;
But the act, that each to-m orrow
Find us farther than to-day.
---Henry Wadsworth Long fellow---

I hope that someone out there
in the vast world of cyber space
knows that when he/she are hurting
there is someone out there with a
kind word for him/her. Nothing is so
devestating that one should take the
life that God so graciously gave them.
There is always a friend who is willing
to listen.

When times get hard,
and pain is all around,
Like a bridge over troubled water,
I will lay me down,
Like a bridge over troubled water,
I will lay me down.
