The third reunion meeting is scheduled for
Saturday, September 8, 2001, at 1:00. The meeting will be held at Nancy Patterson Engman's home.
With the reunion only 2 months away we need to join together to cover all that needs to be done. Please help if you can!

The second reunion meeting is scheduled for Saturday, May 5th, 2001 from about 1:00 to 3:00 PM. The meeting will be held at Nancy Patterson Engman's home. The committee will be labeling and stamping the flyers that Patti Phelps Wilson is producing for our first mailing. The first planning meeting was held March 31st at Pinky's Pizza in Walnut Creek. Attendees included Karen Jones Street, Patti Phelps
Wilson, Kathy Parkinson McConnell, Patty McCurdy, Karen Beisheim Devlin, Suzanne Davis, Deb Purcell Harris, Paul Moreton, and Bob
Houston.
Besides lots of catching up, some actual reunion business was accomplished! There seems to be great enthusiasm for this event,
and the planning committee is optimistic we'll have a good turnout from the Class of '71.
Goal #1 is to compile a comprehensive up-to-date list of classmates so that a flyer may be sent to all. PLEASE ENCOURAGE THOSE
WHO ARE NOT CURRENTLY LISTED ON THE CLASSMATES.COM WEBSITE AND/OR THE GEOCITIES.COM/CLASSOF71_LL WEBSITE
TO DO SO ASAP.
We have reserved the Pleasant Hill Community Center for the evening of Saturday, October 20th. It's a great spot for a reunion, and the
planning committee is in philosophical agreement to "Keep it Simple"...delicious hors d'oeurves, desserts, refreshments (i.e.,
beer/wine), and a disc jockey...what more do we need?

The first Reunion Planning Meeting will be held Saturday, March 31, 2001, beginning at 1:00pm until around 3:00pm,
at Pinky's Pizza Parlor in Walnut Creek.

The Class of 71 reunion will be held on October 20th, 2001
The Las Lomas 50 year reunion events will span the week end from October 19th to the 21st.
The first reunion planning meeting will be held March 31st, 2001, in the Walnut Creek area. (Location will be posted as soon as it is available) between 1:00 and 3:30 pm.
The Pleasant Hill Community Center is the tentative location for the reunion pending Patty McCurdy's visit and approval.
Patty will also attempt to attend the planning meeting with information about caterers and some DJ's in the area that she is familiar with.
Karen was able to reserve a block of rooms for the weekend of the reunion at the
Embassy Suites Hotel on Treat Blvd. in Walnut Creek, with a special rate of $119/night for that
Friday and Saturday night. It includes a full breakfast and an early evening cocktail reception each day. Each suite of 2 rooms can hold up to 4 people and has a microwave, refrigerator, dining table for 4 and 2 TV's. They may work well for those bringing their children. Room reservations need to be made no later than September 18th in order to get the special rate.The phone # at the hotel is 800-362-2779, or 925-934-2500.
Other things that need to be done and what can be done from home, will largely
be determined at the planning meeting. They will let everyone know what tasks still need to be
assigned after the meeting, and people can offer to do what they feel they can do at that
point.
