My Life Today
I'm living in the Ballard neighborhood of Seattle
with my wife of 11 years Patty. I have two stepsons Shawn 26 and Travis
22.
I am working in the wholesale distribution
business (plumbing supplies) as asst. branch manager of
Consolidated Supply (28 employees,$12 million in sales in 2000).
Patty is a preschool teacher at Hutch Kids the childcare
facility for the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center
scientists. We enjoy traveling to Hawaii every other year, have
made a trip to Cyprus (where my family roots are) and enjoy
visting Canada. We have an 18ft tandem sea kayak that has been
a blast and a 13 year old Schnauzer/Terrier named Goldie that
gives us a lot of pleasure now that the boys are our on their
own. Shawn the oldest lives in Ashland OR and is a cook in a
French Restaurant and Travis is finishing up his 4th year in the
US Navy, stationed in Point Loma aboard the USS Coronado. I
still play squash when I can, which lately has been zero, but
really love the game and am always looking for a game!
A Short History of the last 30 Years
I attended DVC and SF State after graduating from LL.
Worked for General Plumbing Supply in WC while going to school
and continued to work there after school was over for me. I
moved to Port Townsend, WA in 1979 and stayed there until 1995
when a new job opportunity moved me to Seattle. Met my wife in
Port Townsend, although she is from the Chico area. Married in
1990 and inherited 2 boys who were 13 and 10 at the time. Had a
great time raising them through their teen years and although at
times challanging a great experience. (forces you to look at a
lot of things you did during those years....yikes!!) Spent about
13 years on the volunteer fire dept. in Port Townsend and was an
EMT for about 6 of those years. Seattle has changed our
lifestyle as we are now city folks and enjoy going to some
cultural stuff and a lot of sporting events (mostly Mariner
games). We attend St Pauls Episcopal Church here in the city
where I am on the vestry.
Future Plans
Hoping to move up in the company I work for as a
branch manager. Patty is looking to obtain her BA in early
childhood development and of course, we want to travel, travel,
travel!
What I've Learned the last 30 years
Make the most of life while you can, because you may
not be here tomorrow!
Message to My Classmates
I hope you all are doing well. And as the Grateful
Dead once said "What a long, strange trip it's been"!
