My Life Today

Rick_Ceragioli.JPG (10k)
I'm married to Lisa, it's the second time for both of us. I've got 3 kids from my first marriage. There's Rich, 22, Megan, 20, and Ashley, 16. We live in Waterford, Mi. It's a suburb of Detroit, about 30 miles northwest. You'd call it rural. Lisa and I have been married for 8 years. I'm an Engineering Technician at Energy Conversion Devices in Troy, for the last 15 years. We build vacuum depostion systems, we developed the NiMH battery technology, and now we're into hydrogen storage for fuel cells. I design and build control systems and test equipment. Lisa is a groomer at The Dog Shoppe in Rochester, Mi. (Yes, the same Rochester that Madonna's from.) She specializes in Soft Coated Wheaten Terriers. We like to listen to music, travel, and just enjoy our home. I play bass guitar for fun. And use this computer. Rich is off on his own. He's working. He shares a place with his girlfriend, Kris. They're doing alright. Megan lives with my ex. I hardly ever hear from her. Ashley lives with us, she's attending Waterford Mott High School. We're just trying to get her going in the right direction! Our pets, well, there's Duncan, a 4 year old West Highland White Terrier, Greta, a 12 year old Standard Poodle, and Jasmin, a 5 year old domestic cat. We rescued all three. We just love 'em! I went to India in 1991, and Moscow, Russia in 1994, both for work. Weird places! It just twists your head around, being there. Lisa and I have done a bit of traveling, just around the US, and into Canada a little. It's pretty close by here! We were just in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, we took a "Snow Train" trip 120 miles into Ontario, for the day. We traveled to Boston for a graduation a couple of years ago, I was in Arizona last year (work, again!), and we've made many trips to western Maryland to visit Lisa's folks. I've made several trips back to California, some for work, and some for pleasure.

A Short History of the last 30 Years

There's no short history! Seriously, I knocked around California, through a succesion of jobs until 1985. My ex is from Michigan, that's how I ended up here. I just lucked into ECD, and I stuck. That's it in a nutshell.

Future Plans

We intend to stay in Michigan, until we retire, then we might move to a warmer climate. I love ECD, it's like no other workplace I've ever seen. Very casual, I'm always working on off-the-wall stuff. Lisa loves her job, too. Anyway, we're quite content here, it's beautiful 3/4 of the year. And, I've learned to survive the winters.

What I've Learned the last 30 years

It's waaaaay too short. (I still have a hard time with 2000!)

Message to My Classmates

It sure is amazing to be able to sit here and write this, knowing people that I haven't seen in 30 years will soon be able to read it, without having eons elapse. We've come a long, long way.

My Favorite Quote

I dunno, it would be something Beatles, I suppose. I just haven't got one off the top of my head right now!

Other Comments

Just make sure you live long enough to see your kids off on their own. Then, you'll know you've done your job.
