| I have spent the last 16 years in the Valley of the Sun (Phoenix, Arizona). I still can't get used to living in a big city (once a hick, always a hick). I have been employed with UPS for 14 years now and will probably retire there. I recently accepted another job , within the company, driving a semi. My 16 year old daughter, Holly, and my 12 year old son, Darren, roll their eyes at me every time I tell a story about small town life in Holyoke. After a divorce in 1992, I remarried in 1997 to a wonderful women named Debbie and I am happy with my new life. My parents still live in Holyoke and from time to time I take the kids and my wife to visit. Whenever I tell anybody, in Arizona, that I'm from Colorado, they always ask me about the Rocky Mountains and John Denver, but I always tell them that MY Colorado is the plains with its own special beauty of summer thunderstorms chasing across a flat prairie, of beautiful sunrises greeting the new day and special people you never forget. There's something special about that northeastern corner of Colorado that never leaves your soul. It's home. 20 years! Sometimes it feels like a million years ago and sometimes it feels like yesterday! I wish all of you and your families only the best! Take care, Kevin |
