| Juliet's nearest big town is Aylesbury (15 to 20 mins in car, depending on meeting sheep or tractors!!). It was the hometown of the great British Prime Minister of Queen Victoria's reign - Benjamin Disraeli. Recently it has been in the news for a far more unusual reason, because the national newspapers have photographed and interviewed the local Park Attendent. He has been making the most beautiful circular designs on the dewy grass with an ordinary long-handled brush |

| Claydon House [now kept by The National Trust] is about 13 miles north-west of Aylesbury. Florence Nightingale, of Crimean War fame, was a regular visitor ... because it was the home of her sister Lady Verney. It was used in the making the film of Jane Austen's "Emma" and the British TV Production of Thackeray's "Vanity Fair".. |
