Deoris' Wish List
Here are the books I would like to have. Most are somewhat connected with the site's theme, so I decided to include them here. I purchase books a lot so I will edit the list constantly to include my new passions. Clicking the books will take you to Amazon.com, where you can buy your own copies. |

Deoris' Wish List - CD's
Here are the CD'sI would like to have. The CD's directly connected with Anne Rice's books are found on the section Music from Anne Rice. My interests this days are from "early music" till Mozart, which would encompass the first hundred years or so before Armand until the time "Interview with the Vampire" takes place. I try to choose recordings with "cleaner" perfomances, with experienced vocal artists, and specially those who use original instruments. Why? Because I like it so... |

Mozart: Requiem , performed by Hogwood, Kirkby, Watkinson, Rolfe-Johnson Purcell: Dido & Aeneas Parrott, Kirkby, Taverner Players. Handel: Carmelite Vespers Parrott, Taverner Choir & Players. With Emma Kirkby and Emily van Evera. Handel: Carmelite Vespers Parrott, Taverner Choir & Players. With Emma Kirkby and Emily van Evera.
Sacred Vocal Music of Monteverdi / Parley of Instruments performed by David Thomas, Emma Kirkby, et al. More Emma Kirkby, singing in English... Madrigals & Wedding Songs for Diana performed by Consort of Musicke, Emma Kirkby, David Thomas.
This one is not in the wish list, I own it for a long time now, but it has perfect sopranos and a new age treatment to the songs (no early music instruments). The composer is Saint Hildegard von Bingen (did they canonize her in the end?) whose unique works you will learn to recognize very fast. More about Saint Hildegard in Music from Anne Rice". The sopranos are Emily van Evera and a real nun (ok, I have to look her name up) . Vision - The Music of Hildegard von Bingen performed by Emily van Evera, et al.
Emma Kirkby Collection
performed by Darlow, Goodman, Page, Rooley et al.
This CD is so perfect I want to cry. A must to begin here if you do not yet
know Emma Kirkby but already know what to expect from Early Music.
