An inter-war period post card showing the Ludendorff bridge, viewed from the west, with the Erpeler Ley in the background. This is the direction from which the U.S. troops approached Remagen, and could of been one of their first views of the still intact bridge.

A post-war commemorative envelope.

The original 9th Armoured sign. This is currently hanging in the Patton Museum of Cavalry and Armour, Fort Knox, Kentucky.

This is one of a series of prints produced by the U.S.Army to commemorate various actions. This particular print of Remagen was produced by the U.S. Government Printing Office in 1954. It was 20 x 24 in., came with framing instructions and cost 20 cents !

The towers on the west bank of the Rhine now house a moving "Memorial to Peace" museum, that I would urge anyone who finds themselves in the area, to visit. The museum is open from March to November, 10.00am to 17.00pm daily.
