Minutes April CLAS Meeting
Matters arising from the
correspondence:
(Other
than business to be dealt with under General Business)
Nil
Treasurer’s Report (April. 2001.)
Opening balance $25,240.52
Income $364.00
Expenditure $229.92
Closing Balance $25,374.60
The
treasurer’s report was adopted.
General Business:
1. A detailed response to the proposed rules changes by the C/L Sub-committee was tabled by Andy Kerr and a copy of these is attached to the minutes.
CLAS
endorsed the comments as submitted and will send them to the Sub-committee.
2. Proposed
changes to the F2B (aerobatics) rules:
Joan
McIntyre has been sent various proposals unofficially from the F2B
sub-committee of CIAM (FAI).
This
was welcome news as we rarely hear of these things through official channels.
CLAS
has encouraged Joan to stay in informal contact with the CIAM F2 sub-committee
and
ask them to ensure that their documents for circulation and comment be sent to
the MAAA.
It
was agreed that CLAS again pursue actively the purchase of land for a permanent
flying site (especially for state Championships) for an approximate cost of up
to $200,000. (this being an amount which could be reasonably available from the
MAAA). It would obviously be rural land at some distance from any major city.
John
McIntyre will do some initial investigations.
4. Perpetual
Stunt Trophy (off the stick comp)
At
a great cost saving to CLAS, Brian Eather has kindly constructed a wooden
trophy and has approval to purchase the remaining shields etc. to complete the
job.
5. CLAS
web site:
It
was agreed (enthusiastically) to accept Gary Tansley’s proposal that CLAS set
up a web site and that each discipline (stunt, racing, combat, Speed) keep its
own web page up to date. One pre-booked site is www.geocities.com/clasnsw
6. NSW
State Championships 2001 (29th.Sept
– 1st.Oct):
The Narromine Club has kindly offered again to host the Championships and CLAS accepts the offer with thanks to the Narromine Club.
CLAS wishes to offer whatever assistance it can to the Narromine Club, and will write to the Mayor of Narromine expressing our gratitude for the offer he made last year to assist the Narromine Club. Assistance in field preparation would be especially welcome.
The meeting closed at 9.33 pm.
