To:
All CIAM F2 Subcommittee members
From: Peter Germann, F2 Subcommittee member and Stunt
Working Group
Co-ordinator
Dear Friends:
As you have recently heard, the F2 Subcommittee has decided to revise and
update the current set of rules for Control Line Stunt (class F2B) and I was
assigned to co-ordinate the efforts of the Working Group selected for that
task. Andy Sweetland has offered his expertise in document writing and
editing and as a result of his very significant input, the first
"unofficial draft"
of the proposed revisions will be ready very soon now.
In order to end up with a set of revised rules which meets everyone's needs
(as far as possible!), I intend to form a "communications group"
consisting
of a number of individuals who will each receive the F2B rule change
proposals and suggestions based on the above about-to-be-completed first
draft. To work really effectively, that group should consist of
"qualified"
individuals representing all the nations with an active interest in Stunt.
To me, the above "qualified" means: well-known personality who is
respected/accepted within his/her own national Stunt community; who can
immediately establish a representative network within that country's Stunt
community; has knowledge of current Stunt rules and/or who is either an
experienced Stunt judge or a competition flyer; and who is able to
communicate via E-mail, in English.
Those individuals will be the "national representatives" of the Stunt
Working Group and they will be expected to distribute our proposals, collect and
summaries the inputs from their own country, and then return
the results to me.
We expect the total project duration to be about one year (intermittently,
not full time!), and the actual communications and "filtering"
workload for
each national rep is estimated as being an average of perhaps one hour per
week.
So the purpose of this message is to now ask each one of you to nominate ONE
national representative who is willing and able to co-operate as described
above. Please reply with the name and e-mail address of a qualified
individual to represent your nation. In case you would like to suggest
several candidates, I suggest that you list the names in the same order in
which you want me to contact them.
I intend to start work with the F2B Working Group and those national reps on
1st June 2001 and we aim to submit an internationally-accepted "first
official draft" of a complete set of F2B rules to the F2 Subcommittee in
early November 2001, so please let me have your inputs by the end of this month
I look forward to hearing from you all, thanks in advance.
Very kind regards, Peter D. Germann
