G Tansley gave a report on progress with the new field for the SAT Club. Advised that they are currently arranging a lease with Council. Expected to be 10 x 10 with rental expected to be $500/1000 pa indexed to the CPI. They are waiting on information in respect to a Government subsidy. They are also waiting on information from Department of Fair Trading in respect to incorporating the Club and a copy of the MAAA Insurance Policy which is required by Council as part of the Lease process. The Club expects the field to be ready by summer 2003.
J
Elias raised the issue of F2B judging and a general discussion ensued with all
present making one or more contributions to the discussion based generally on
their individual perceptions of the problem and what should be done to correct
the situation. It was agreed to
progress the issue with a view to overcoming the generally accepted problem of
an overall unsatisfactory judging situation except for the issue of cost
reimbursement to judges, which is to be deferred as it is a CLAS matter and not
F2B specific. It was decided that the letter from J Elias would be discussed
further at a meeting of interested F2B fliers after the CLAS meeting is closed. No motion emerged from the discussion in
respect to F2B judging.
J
McIntyre asked about the website, which according to advice from G Bevan is not
being updated since the new CLAS secretary was elected. G Tansley will look
into it.
A Kerr
raised the subject of the Rules Conference and commented on the practice of
including different issues in one block, which provides no option for voting
for some issues and against others, which he believes is unsatisfactory. Moved that Rules Change Proposals to go on
agenda for M Comiskey to raise at the forthcoming MAAA conference. Seconded G
Tansley. Carried.
B
Eather advised he is aware that Doug Grinham from Victoria is upset about the
Classic Rules changes and blamed NSW for the situation which he believes will
have a detrimental affect on the event.
A general discussion ensued. It
was noted that NSW agreed to the Classic pattern included in the recent MAAA
postal vote 5/2201 – Control Line Rules but no one in attendance had any
knowledge of input from NSW in its formulation. A view was expressed that the pattern now reflects the pattern
prevailing at the “classic” era.
General
discussion in respect to F2B judges at forthcoming National Championships at
Wodonga, VIC. NSW will be providing at
least 2 judges.
Meeting
closed 9.27 pm.
Next
