DISTRUGGIAMO L’OMOFOBIA ADESSO!

Molte persone non realizzano che i gay e le lesbiche sono le principali vittime dei crimini razziali. Statistiche continuano a indicare che gli afro - americani ne hanno il numero più alto, ma secondo dati recenti le violenze sui gay e sulle lesbiche superano quelle sulle altre minoranze. Un’altra preoccupante tendenza è che gli attacchi contro di loro sono più violenti di e distruttivi di quelli sugli altri gruppi che subiscono gesti simili.Abbiamo potuto osservare che anche tra i cosiddetti radicali o progressisti sembrano esserci casi di omofobia. Come può un gruppo di persone essere completamente perseguitato nella società? Se vogliamo portare avanti un vero cambiamento sociale dobbiamo discutere e confrontare l’argomento chiamando le persone che perpetuano e legitimizzano questi schifosi attacchi.

Most people don’t realize that gays and lesbians are the fastest growing victims of hate crimes. Statistics still indicate that African-Americans have the highest numbers,but as far as rising numbers, gays and lesbians far exceed that of other minorities. Another disturbing trend is that attacks against them are often more violent and destructive than other groups experiencing similar occurrences. Something that we have noticed is that even among so called radicals or progressive there seems to be a recurring theme of homophobia. How is it that a group of people can be completely ostracized in society? If we are to bring about true social change we have to address this and confront it by calling out the people that perpetuate and legitimize these sickening attacks.
