I Last Man Standing cominciano a suonare nell’aprile 97 quando Davide chiede a Fabrizio di rompere la noia cittadina formando una band per suonare dell’ HC vecchia maniera. Cheidono  ad Erdo e Paolo (che suonano anche nei No Choiche) di aiutarli e dopo tre serate in sala prove si trovano su un palco senza nome e senza pezzi propri. Suonano solo covers (Unity, Minor Threat, Instead, Youth Of Today...) e siccome cominciano con “Shutdown” dei Project X, Fabrizio grida “Hey, noi siamo i Shutdown”. Lo show è l’inizio di qualcosa di nuovo a Bolzano. Sempre più ragazzi cominciano ad avvicinarsi al movimento. Piano, piano la cosa si fa più seria, si cominciano a scrivere i pezzi d i “Still The Same Over The Years” nell’autunno dello stesso anno ed in gennaio del 98 registrano il tutto. Rudy Medea, singer degli Indigesti e boss della Vacation House decide di aiutarli nella produzione del CD, che esaurisce le prime 1000 copie in meno di 4 mesi, dando il via alla ristampa. Il gruppo supporta il CD con un mini tour di 10 date a cavallo di Belgio e Germania. In questo periodo aprono diversi show con molti amici quali Product, Strenght Approach, To Die For, Full Of Life e Fratellanza e concerti di Liar (Belgio), Spreak 714 (Germania) e Better Than A Thousand (in Italia). Nella primavera del 99 il gruppo entra in contatto con la belga Sitton Rec., che produce “The True Meaning”, a supporto del quale i Last Man Standing, nell’estate del 99 girano l’Europa per un mese dividendo il palco con gruppi del calibro di Ignite, Ensign, As Friend Rust, JR Ewing... Nell’inverno del 99 suonano alcuni concerti con Fast Break e Cause For Alarm ed vari show con i soliti amici italiani.

Last Man Standing starts to play in april 97, when Davide asks to Fabrizio to break the monotony of the town creating an old school HC band. They ask to Erdo and Paolo to help them and after 3 days in the reharsalroom, they play a gig with no name and no own songs, they play only covers (Unity, Minor Threat, Instead, Youth Of Today) and, because of the starting with “Shutdown” of Project X, Fabrizio says: “Hey, we’re Shutdown”. This gig is the beginning of something new in Bolzano. More and more boys join the “movement”. Slowly, this thing got more “serious”, they start to write the songs of “Still The Same Over The Years” in the autumn of the same year and in January 98 they record it. Rudy Medea, singer of Indigesti and boss of Vacation House decide to help them in the CD - releasing, which sell out the first 1000 copies in few 4 months, permising its re-release. The band support the CD with a minitour (10 gigs) among Belgium and Germany. IN this period they play some shows with their friends as Product, Strenght Approach, To Die For, Full Of Life and Fratellanza and open some date for Liar (Belgium), Speak 714 (Germany) and Better Than A Thousand (in Italy).

The band join the Belgium label Sitton Rec, which releases “The True Meaning”. Last Man Standing supported it playing in Europe (Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, Holland and UK), opening for bands like Ignite, Ensign, As Friend Rust, JR Ewing... In winter of 99 they play some gigs with Fast Break and Cause For Alarm and with the usual Italian friends.
