This team overtakes Ope IFs spot. IFK Östersund are to play in division 3 (which they were relegated to) 1997. Ope decided to step down to division 4 (5th level). It must be understood that Östersunds FK not is an amalgamation as such. Östersunds FK is to be seen as a spearhead of the teams mentioned. The best players of the teams are to be directed to Östersunds FK. However, in the alltimetable Östersunds FK is separate to any of the other teams engaged in the merger and not as a continuation of Ope IF as the latter continue to play on their own. NB 2: Obbola IK merged with IFK Holmsund after season, creating the new team Obbola/IFK Holmsund. Promoted to division 2 from division 3: Umedalens IF.
