Note:
At the end of the season it was decided by the Swedish football federation
that the island of Gotland should have their own division 4 group. The
leaguewinner would not be automatically promoted to division 3, but would have
to participate in a playoff against another selected division 4 winner. This
meant that the highest league in Gotland (at that point equivalent to division
5) was promoted to a division 4 group consisting of the following 10 teams:
Dalhems IF, Fardhems IF, Grötlingbo IF, Hemse BK, Lye IF, Othems IF, Roma IF, Visby AIK, Visby IF & Vänge IK.
Please observe that Hemse & Lye 1960 played in division 6 (6th level). Thus by
finishing first and second in that league they managed to take two steps up the
pyramid to division 4 (4th level)! Also note that the two teams finishing last
and second to last in Gotlands division 5 (5th level) 1960 (Slite IF & Havdhems
IF) escaped relegation to division 6. All this because of the reorganisation of
the division 5 group in Gotland.
