| Tellus was truly a sight to behold. A little bit of every whorling rolled into one, she appeared quite fearsome and formidable. Her pride was badly damaged by the man that she now regarded with a glowing red eye. He had caught her unawares, something that she was not proud of. Now, she was being kept in a cage of sorts, to await a person that was supposed to take her to some kind of sanctuary! Hah! She didn't trust these humans for a moment. She studied the new approaching human. He looked nice enough, but she wasn't wiling to just let him take her anywhere without a fight. He looked at her, and back to the man who had captured her. "Leave us," he said quietly to the man. The man looked as if he were about to protest, but decided better of it, for the other human, despite being young, looked battle trained and ready. He nodded and left. The young boy (or teen) approached her, eyeing her just as she had eyed him earlier. Then he spoke. "I hope he has not ruffled your pride too much whorling," he said. She glared at him. He was probably just like the other man anyway. She stomped a hoof in irritation and anger. He help up his hands in mock defeat and laughed. "Softly now. I mean you no harm. To prove it, first let me tell you where I'm from. I come from a sanctuary, in essence, to collect creatures of rare origin for a lady named Lakegazer. I was sent to fetch you, but only if you wish to come willingly, for no creatures are kept there against their will." She nodded her approval, but still looked at him suspiciously. He didn't blame her, so he demonstrated his good intent. "Here," he said, opening the enclosure that she was kept in. "If you do not wish to come with me, you may leave now. I won't stop you." he stepped out of the way and waited for her to make her decision. She was touched by his show of trust and approached him slowly. "What do you call yourself human?" she asked quietly, completely mollified. "They call me Luthrain at Creature Gardens," he said solumnly. "And what, pray tell, may I call you?" "Tellus," she said simply. "I will join you. You have taught me trust again, and for that I am thankful." |
