| Silvanus hopped nimbly from tree to tree, following the strange creature below. He knew it wasn't like him-that much was obvious, but he was curious by nature, and wanted desperately to figure out who this strange beast was. He hid himself in the canopy of the trees. He'd figure out who this thing was in his own time. He watched the beast trudge along, seemingly aimlessly. Again, his curiousity got the better of him and he started wondering what the creature was searching so intently for. He decided that he simply had to investigate. Hopping down to a lower tree limb, he rocketed himself down to a stone platform below, directly in front of the human. He decided to be casual, and, very nonchalantly, began grooming himself. The boy, just out of pure luck, caught Silvanus' lightning quick movements out of the corner of his eye (for Silvanus wasn't in quite the strategic position that he had thought he was). The boy advanced cautiously, wondering of what temperament this creature was. Silvanus regarded the boy's approach with fake distain, and turned his back on him, seemingly uninterested, and continued grooming. When his ultra sensitive ears picked up just how near the boy was, he decided on a scare tactic, just for fun, to test his mettle. He whirled around, all four feet akimbo, and hissed. He proceeded to follow this up with a deep growl, and swiped the air in front of him with what he had meant to look like a ferociously clawed paw, but really only came off as kitten like to the boy. The boy laughed, and sat down next to the whorling, amused by the beast's antics. He casually batted away the whorling's paw, acting as if it were something he did every day. "So, you think acting all big and ferocious is going to grab my attention?" asked the boy. "Well it did, but not likely in the way you were hoping for. It amused me." Silvanus looked at him and gave a shrug, as if this were the effect that he had hoped for all along. The boy laughed again. "So what do you call yourself little whorling?" he asked. "Most call me Silvanus. What is a human like you doing out and about in this part of the woods?" he asked, somewhat beligerently. The boy pretended to look somewhat perplexed. "Why, I would have thought it would have been obvious. To search for creatures like you of course. I've been sent to find as many unique creatures as possible to bring back to a santuary nearby-Creature Gardens- and I just stumbled upon you. Perhaps you would like to come stay at the sanctuary? I'm sure Lakegazer would love some more resident whorlings." Silvanus' ears pricked up at the mention of other whorlings. This part of the forest was rather lonely, and perhaps he would enjoy the company of some of his fellows. He looked happily up at the boy. "Sure! Sounds like a superb idea! What am I to call you?" he asked. "Remmox will suffice," he said. With that, Silvanus lept gracefully up to Remmox's shoulder and the two continued on the path towards what would now be known as home. |
