Isendir
Isendir had wanted to go out that day, but they were still treating him like a cub...Well, he was a cub, but he was close to being a teen, and certainly that deserved some extra privledges!

He stalked restlessly around the cavern, surrounded by his brothers and sisters. Veneran looked up at him, a quizzical look on his face. He could tell that he was bored as well, and being cooped up with Nxya, Vulcan and Beven while their parents were gone was not their idea of fun.

Isendir poked about, sniffing curiously. He glanced up at Nyxa, Vulcan and Beven. The three were starting to drift off in their hammocks...perhaps he'd get a chance to escape then.

He sat down quietly, willing himself to be patient, for the sake of future exploration. When he saw their eyes start to flutter shut, he turned to Veneran, ready to ask him to come gallivanting with him, but he too had fallen victim to the comfortable heat in the cavern that had a tendancy to put people to sleep. Isendir shook his head impatiently.

I'll just have to go by myself then! he thought miserably. Trudging outside, he was instantaniously cheered up by the weather. His parents shouldn't be far... he better make sure they don't see him.

He ran around the hillside, trying to avoid being seen, for his parents had always said that they were always being hunted. Shortly after, he disregarded the warning when he ran into a grasshopper. He was intent on pouncing on it, but it kept hopping away from him. Frustrated he chased after it, not paying any attention to where he was going.

Suddenly, he bumped into something that was strangely animal like... strangely furry.... strangely like his mother. He slowly raised his head and fixed a charming smile on his face. She looked sternly at him.

"Didn't I tell you not to go wandering? Where's Vulcan and the rest? What are they doing?" she snapped.

"Sleeping, mother," he replied.

"Silly humans, " she said, shaking her head. He nodded in agreement, but only until she fixed him with another angry glare. "Don't think you're off the hook! We're going home straight away!" She grabbed him by the scruff of his neck and began walking back towards the cavern but was stopped short with a sudden jerk.

The jolt completely shook Isendir out of his mother's mouth and threw him to the ground, a distance behind the disturbance. Once he shook his head clear, he realized what went amiss.

A large man, accompanied by a few others on horseback had tethered his mother. They now had her cornered, and had thrown a net over her. Snarling dangerously, she bit at the net and tried to attack anyone who came near, but it was no use. She was hopelessly snared. Isendir flew into a panic. He couldn't attack the men.. they were too big and if his mother couldn't handle them, then what was the chance that he could?

Suddenly Nyxa and Vulcan flew into the clearing, followed closely by Beven. They stopped cold. Vulcan was the first to react, straightening his back, arching his eyebrows and crossing his arms. He fixed his arch enemy Reyali with an imperialistic stare.

"Reyali, she belongs to me. This is my land. Let her go." Reyali chuckled, and twisted the net cruely, causing Lucina to yelp in pain.

"As far as I know,
your highness," he said smugly, "your lands are quite a bit back aways. These lands are fair game." Reyali whirled around in shock as the area lit up with an intense pure light. He shielded his eyes, and when it dimmed, somewhat, a creature stepped out. Isendir had turned into a teen, and his lithe body was ready to fight! He instinctively charged towards the horses, snapping at their hooves causing the riders to be bucked off. A rustle in the bushes and Tyri appeared to join his son. Vulcan and Nyxa wrestled the net off of Lucina as the two fought off the armed men. Growling low in his throat, Isendir lept onto Reynali, pinning him to the ground with his weight and clamping his jaw around the man's throat. Reyali gasped, and at least had the sense to stay quiet.

Vulcan got to his feet, supporting the limping Lucina against his side.

"Isendir!" he barked. "You can let him go." Isendir backed off him reluctantly, but still remained in front of him, with his father, growling menacingly. Reyali stepped back, glaring at Vulcan threateningly.

"As I told you before. This isn't over. I have a job to do for your father and I will get it done, no matter the cost." With that, he whirled away, leading his men to different ground. Isendir watched them. He was sure that they'd be back.
